A little duplication as I also put this up in the general thread too. Thought a few of you that pack cameras might enjoy it as well.
Cookie was saddled with jury duty in Aug/Sept which is her typical pre-hunting season pronghorn run. That being, she hit it here on Oct 11, 12, and 13. Given our tardiness this year, we were not sure we could shake them out, but we found some productive ground. It's post rut now, and I think the really big boys have split off from the crowd. Still, she had some mediocre success snapping just short of 1000 images over the three days she went at them. Thank goodness we are past film. I never knew a camera and memory card could smoke, so her next one better be a water cooled unit.
Here's a sample:
1Buck
2Bucks punching through about 1/8" of ice.
3Bucks and a couple ladies
Somewhere she has images of 4 and 5, but I'm too bushed to wade through the pile.
Cold nights camping, and it was also cold and windy out on the open plains for the last couple of days. I thought she would bag it early, but she went the duration. Thank God she has to go to work tomorrow, as I was wearing out.
Gear was a Canon EOS 70D carrying a Canon 500mm lens.
She's making a pitch for a new camera and some lenses before her November deer season arrives. If that flies, there will be nothing for her under the tree in Dec. Never get your wife a good camera. It can become a very expensive hobby if she really gets into it.
Have a good one,
