I’m using a SWFA 6x MQ.
All the talk of 20 MOA rails and 40 MOA rings got to me, but the height ruins my cheek weld, and adding a cheek pad seems to defeat the purpose of having a Fieldcraft in the first place.

I'm using the same on a Montana - no MOA rails or special rings, just Leup rings. I can't use all the scope much less the rings/rail.
Not apples to apples but still relatively heavy scope on a light rifle - feels good in the mits still.

What caliber are you shooting and how far are you shooting with that 6x scope?

I was very surprised when adding a 20 MOA rail with Seekins rings and a NF 3-10 SHV that it did not negatively impact cheek weld.

6.5 Creedmoor and I haven’t shot it past 200 yet. We have a longer range, I just need to get out of work some afternoon and shoot it.

Of course the stock is different, but the weld was about the same as I recall. The rail just changed how tight the weld is. I was pessimistic about the rail until I tried it.

I have a Tract Tekoa 3-12x42 with T-Plex mounted in LW Talleys. It's possibly my best hunting scope. The reticle is clearly better than the duplex in a VX-5 HD 2-10. Only had it out once for a special doe hunt.
According to a review, the Tekoa shares the mechanics of the Torics, but is 4 to 1 instead of 5 to 1, and lacks the ED glass. Been on three rifles so far, and so far, so good. Might try something lighter later, maybe the VX-5, or a Accupoint, but I kinda hear an SHV calling me. Since I don't throw my rifles, the Talleys will be fine until they're not.
After toting 6.5 pounds around, it's going to be hard to carry anything heavier.
What fresh Hell is this?

I’m running a couple of mine in different configurations. The 6.5 and 22/250 have enough elevation in the scope to reach 600 yards easily. I haven’t taken the .308 to 600 yet to see how I’m doing with room in the erector. Cheek weld is perfect for me with the 22/250 and .308. The 6.5 is just a smidge high for me.

18.5” .308 - Leupold VX6HD 2-12 / Talley lows
21” 22-250 - Nightforce 2.5-10x32 / Talley lows

Just because Stick loves the extra inclination doesn't mean you will.
Hell, I shoot out to 1,350 all the time without the extra 60 moa.
Yank those inserts, flatten your schit out and enjoy the weld you want.
If you ever decide you just gotta have it, throw them back in there.

That’s probably what I’ll do.
I keep looking at the drop tables and thinking, with a 200 yard zero, I don’t need much available elevation to get to 1,000.
And I’d need quite a bit more practice and DOPE to take a shot past 400 yards or so.

.260 with 147's @ 2,750 and a flat 6x MQ gets a guy to 1,700 yards most days.

I have a SWFA 3-9 on my fieldcraft on a 20 MOA rail. I have high cheek bones and have to use a stock pack on any rifle with a scope. Yes even VX-2s in talley lows, so the use of the pack and build it up a little higher isn't a big deal for me and just something I have to do to make it "work" to be able to get my cheek bone on the stock with my eyes closed and open up to a full sight picture. The stock packs I use also has a zippered pocket that I store extra rounds and a lighter. Don't see going back to talley's anytime soon.

Just a 3-9x40 conquest on a fc 30-06 in Talley lows. I won’t be shooting at game over 400 (and very rarely over 300) yards with a lightweight rifle and this combo gets me there.

Talley rail on all:
6.5, Seekins 1" low, 2-10 Tract Toric 6.5, Seekins 30mm low, 3-10 SHV 7-08, Seekins 1" low, 6x42 S&B 30-06, Seekins 30mm low, 2.5-10 NXS
They are all a little high for me. Easiest/simplest work around for me has been to build up a "stock pack" with my fat face by starting with the stock on my jawline and sliding my face down it...not the best for quick shots but it works.
I've got another rifle I just experimented with building up by gorilla taping a section of flip-flop to it then wrapping with coflex. I'll try to get a pic posted sometime. It's actually a great fit.

1-8 Nightforce NX8 and Talley LW Lows on a 308. The scope still sits way too high, so I've built the stock up with mouse pad and tape. Will replace the mounts with a rail one of these days, especially since there isn't a low enough mount that doesn't require building up the comb.

I have been thinking about getting one long and hard, but just can't "justify" it in my mind yet. Couple that with a .35 MIL (1.2 MOA) dot that essentially covers up 5" of target at 400 yards has me a little apprehensive as well. Of course its all about usage and realistically it would be fine given the applciation but occasionally I like to run it out to distance and thats where I worry I may find the "large" center dot annoying.

I also thought the large dot would be an issue, but in practice I'm really liking it. The dot stands out nicely on animals, and doesn't seem too large for the degree of precision necessary for hunting. I suppose for a small varmint or target gun the dot could be a bit large, but it seems just right for big game hunting. Overall I really like the scope. If they were $500 instead of $1500 +, I'd probably own several more.
