I have used the VX-II 2-7X33 quite a bit and like it, it's easier to get behind than my present 2.5-8X36 VX-3i.

The Redfields have been discontinued. Did Leupold see them as lost cause? I know when they bought them out they promised to continue the Redfield name.

I own 2 Redfield 2-7 x 33 rifle scopes & about 6 assorted others. They are on my 2 favourite rifles.

I also have two of the 2-7 Revolutions. One has been on a 45-70 GBL and shot full-house loads for the last eight years. It's never ever faltered.

Eyebox is more forgiving.. Ahhhh, I have every generation of Leupold 2-7's ( including the VX-I/VX-1) except for the current Freedoms, and every generation of 2.5-8's. The biggest reason I pay the extra money for the 2.5-8's is because they are easier to get behind. You are the first person I've heard say to the contrary.

I find the opposite, or so it seems to me. Not enough difference to keep me from using it, just enough to notice when paying attention to such things. Could be the particular rifle it's on.
The reasons I tried the VX-3i are slight glass difference, one piece tube, and dual spring erector. I was also able to get a single-turn locking CDS.
I really like this size and power range of scope, especially on a rifle I am trying to be conscious of weight and will be used in brush/wooded areas, field of view is great.

I too think the 2-7x is easier to deal with than the 2.5-8x. I hate that scope.

Now that I think about it, the last Redfield scope I saw was a Fred Meyers this past spring when they were getting out of the gun business. As slow as the moved them, the scope had probably sat there 2-3 years.

On the right of the webpage, click on the catalogue link and you will see the revolutions on page 16, I believe. Cheers.
