I worked with Lilja to come up with a modified 8400 contour similar in concept to their modified 84m contour.
Barrel will finish .617 at 24" instead of factory .560 at 24"
This is now a contour Lilja is offering but I had to pay an extra $50 to get it started.
This should make a nice Montana 6.5 PRC or 6.5 SAUM 4s
Again, this is a slightly modified Kimber 8400 contour. Similar to factory WSM contours.
Stainless 1:8 Twist 6.5 cal.
$380 Shipped.

That’d be a good 6.5 Remington mag platform!

Still a blank? No threads or shank?
Free bump. Nice 6.5/06 build.

It has not been threaded or chambered. Isn’t the 8400 long action contour diff from the short action WSM’s? Also you would need a non mag 84L bolt for 6.5.06....if I’m not mistaken.

I have exactly ZERO need for this barrel. However, it is tempting...

Would you mind throwing it on a scale? Lilja has it on there site now but lists the blank at 3.96 pounds while the unmodified is listed at 2.41 pounds. I suspect an error on their part as the 84 M is listed at 2.34 and the 84 M modified is listed at 2.55; only a modest increase in weight as would be expected. http://riflebarrels.com/wp-content/uploads/mod8400.pdfAs an aside, thanks for getting this set up. I am surprised no one has yet done the same for the 84L.
