The processor that I use on occasion, has a jar full of sharp things and bullets he has removed from deer, that were not the cause of death.

An unemployed Jester, is nobody's Fool.

the only real difference between a good tracker and a bad tracker, is observation. all the same data is present for both. The rest, is understanding what you're seeing.

You may find yourself enjoying the “quiet” of hunting with a pointed stick. I hear you about shoot what you get on public land. They’re always a tougher fought trophy. Many times you’d be surprised what your public land deer ages at. What you think is a three year old buck actually ages more like five or older. Does aren’t easy by any measure. I’ve always thought that if you can get the drop on a mature doe within archery range you can shoot anything. So,congrats. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself going out more with the old string and stick.

With plenty of meat in hand, I can relax and enjoy the rifle season without any pressure now. Still have lots of tags to fill, but those were purchased to provide plenty of opportunities more than truckloads of venison. My older son punched three in three days with my Knight ML, so he's got a bunch too. The younger one passed on a decent buck last weekend, and now he's second guessing himself somewhat, but has plenty of time yet.

Archery/Crossbow is open until 12/31, with more than a week in December when only bows are legal again. That'll be a good time to get back out. This week I want to refit my pack, adjust my brace heigth, and maybe dust a little dark paint on my limbs which shine just a bit too much. And eat some venison!
