I’m buying a Rem XR100 single shot rifle
It has four screw holes for the scope base.
Does the Rem model 7 with four holes for the bases interchange with the XR 100.

Second question.
What your view on aluminum bases with steel or aluminum rings, on a 22 centerfire gun?

Dale06: I have several Remington XR-100 Rifles and the catalogs don't (never have) inform us what "bases" fit on them!
I got miffed on my second or third XR-100 and put a one piece Remington 700 short action base by Leupold on that XR-100!
It worked.
After dinner (dinner bell just rang here!) I will go down in my gun vault room fetch one of my XR-100's and my magnifying glass and try to get some specifics off of my mounting bases for you.
YOU... are going to LOVE that Rifle!
What caliber do you have coming?
I have three in 204 Ruger, one in 223 Remington and one in 22-250 Remington.

I bought a used one in 22-250 and am having it rebarreled to 22ppc.

XR100's take an XP-100, Model 7, or Model 600 one piece base or the current 4 screw Model 7 base.

make sure you get a 4 screw steel base, the aluminum bases suck as does the 3 screw models. I got mine from Ken Farrell and it works awesome with a 50mm scope. If you are running a 40mm scope you will want a shorter steel Model 7 base.
