Outdoor Edge has their own blades of quite different shape. I do not believe they are interchangeable but I might be misremembering.

I went to Gander Outdoors and picked up a wiebe monarch for $11.99 instore sale price and the blonde cutie behind the cash register gave me a 30% coupon deal... out the door for under $9.

Miss Claus put a Forge under the tree, I'm liking it quite a bit. The blade changer is pretty slick, but I don't see it going in the field with me. Longer handle with a finger groove seems pretty handy.

Hey, Bill here. I'm with GWB on the good in the hide house. I get all my blades at tractor supply or co-op. 12 fr $4.99 not sure now? Cheap though. The stainless handles are cheap too, thought about gluing the S/S handle into a wood handle like a tang of a normal knife???? Maybe. If your careful it's pretty good at not breaking, but I'm one of those, But what iffff guys???? I'm out πŸΎπŸ‘£

I saw a buddy break a gerber blade gutting a deer on my farm. The twisting motion did it in.

not sure if havalon or weibe has heavier blades.

humdinger,

I also broke a Havalon blade this past spring while field dressing a turkey. I couldn't believe I did it! After I found the broken end of the blade (I guess I twisted it TOO much), I just replaced the blade and finished up the job. I do wish they were a bit heavier?

I have the Havalon, Tyto, and a fixed Wiebe. For me, it's the Wiebe all the way. better handle, holds same blades. Haven't tried the folding Wiebe, but it's next.
