My main bird gun is a Remington Model 11 20 gauge with poly choke. I'd love to carry it duck hunting and especially for jump shooting Snipe afterwards. Since steel isn't an option in the oldies, anyone tried the new Kent Bismuth loads? I'm thinking #4 and #6's would handle duck and Snipe hunting respectively. Thanks in advance for any information gentlemen.

I got a couple of 10 packs, as you are thinking in 4 and 6, for waterfowl and grouse on a recent trip, but I did not get around to buying my nonres. license. BTW Model 11 in 20 ga HAS to be a cool one to hunt with.

Are the packs I'm seeing advertised around $30 ten or twenty-five count?

This particular Model 11 has been in my family three generations and has taken about every critter The Sunshine State has to offer.... Points like lightning and is an absolute pleasure to carry.

ahhh I might be wrong, you could be seeing 25 packs vs 10 pks, see post below

I'm going to check the local Bass Pro here in Tampa today. Headed back to NC tomorrow so I'll hopefully be able to find some along the way if Tampa is out...

We'll pass over a dozen " Outdoor Super Stores" on the way back to work. I'd imagine at least one will have the damn things....

I used these on a Kansas hunt. It absolutely crushed the ducks and geese. Best Bismuth on the market. Great price also. Comes 20 to a box.

I've been using the Kent Tungsten Matrix in my old SXS 20 for years. I's safe to use in the old guns and hits much harder than bismuth. At 10.8g/ cc the Tungsten Matrix is much closer to lead than bismuth 9.8g/ cc.

I bought a bunch of it, Natchez had it on clearance at some point around '02-'03. I think I bought about 400 rounds of the stuff. Down to my last 10 boxes. It was right at a dollar a round when I bought it.

I have loaded lead, and shot it alongside Tungsten Matrix and could tell no difference between the two. That was as recently as last year.

I guess when my supply runs out I will have to look at bismuth. I shot bismuth in '94ish when they first approved it and it worked fine. The clearance on the T-M was just too good to pass up.
