Does anyone who has both of these have an opinion on which has the higher comb ?

According the McM website, comb height is the same, but the web site specs are not always correct.

I have a Hunters Edge and am thinking going with the slightly beefier Classic this time. I find the H/E comb a little low for anything bigger than a 42 Objective.

I'm pretty sure those two stocks differ in the fore end but are the same in the butt.

Screw you! I'm voting for Trump again!

I have both, can't really say I notice any difference in the height when shouldering them and looking through my scope. Like Higbean said its more of the fore-end being much different/thicker on the Classic. Both great stocks IMHO, with the Classic Edge probably my favorite of the two.

I agree with those above, the comb height seems the same to me and the forend is thicker on the Classic.

The Classic has a more closed grip and the Compact a more open grip.

I agree on the McMillans. If you need a higher comb, I'd go to a Manners. My preference is EH-4 for a compact stock.

Not great but you will get the idea. The Classic isn't really as "big" as it looks in the below pictures, for anything with a barrel contour of say sporter on up its great.

Hunters Edge/Compact on left, Classic on right:

Thanks folks. That's very helpful.

Oregonmuley's pic also shows that the Classic has a longer forend than the H/E, which can be a good thing for some uses. I also like the more closed grip of the Classic.
