Saw some on GB, but noticed that they are made with 1-12 twist! I was wondering why not the standard 1-8?

Doesn't make sense. Thought it might be a typo but the 308 is 1 in 12 too.

Tenjano,

Yes I saw that as well! Too me it seems they are limiting the capabilities especially of the 6.5x55 as the norm is a 1-8” twist. I was interested in one, not that I need another 6.5 lol, but I liked the lines of that rifle but 1-12”?

Euro rifles are often 1:8.66 in the Swede, but I've never seen 1:12.

I'll bet that's just a typo, or carried over from a listing for the .308. NO ONE is gonna make a 1-12" Swede, especially not a Yurrupean maker.

GB is the last place I'd look for accurate specs. I see mistakes there all the time.

Check on Merkel's website or call them. I bet the correct number is one in eight.

I hope so. 1:8 has been the std. twist forever. It was designed for heavy bullets.

I'll bet it's a typo.

I checked on their website and it shows a 1-12 for the Swede. Searched the net and didn’t find anything.
