I've had a few Fords, but mostly Toyota's, from old FJ40's to more modern rigs,and although I'm enjoying my 2005 taco, at the end of the day I think the best was my 2006 tundra DC TRD, sadly the frame gave up before the rest of the truck...how about you?

For what i call a modern truck with a real 8'bed not what I call a wheel barrel with a 6 or 6.5 foot bed ,is my 03 Laramie with an old school 360ci and four doorsJust regular maintenance has got her well over 200k milesBUT my all time favorite was a 1970 Chevy C-10 with no bells and whistles just three on the tree a heater and a 327ci engine gave me over a quarter of a million miles and was still running when I let her go..

this '98 Tacoma was one of my best..........

current newer '14 is doing just fine at 80K miles

My favorite is my snow plow truck. 85 Dodge w350 4x4 dually with the short wheelbase. 360, Dana 60 front, dana 70 rear, 205 transfer case with a 4 speed transmission. I am working on its replacement as a retirement hunting rig. 85 w150 short bed, engine in it right now is a stock 318 4 barrel, Dana 44 front, Chrysler 9 1/4" rear, 208 transfer case, 4 speed.

09 Tacoma with 240k + . Only things replaced so far are hubs and bearings .

Mine was a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Thing was a tank. Had it all over Ohio and Pennsylvania. On trails in Moab, and all over Colorado. Lotta fun in that jeep

My current '12 tacoma. 154K so far, truck I've kept the longest and most miles. Wheel bearings, and the usual brakes, shocks. Got tired of taking a beating on resale on chevy, dodge, so went with this one last time.

2010 tacoma

wife's daily driver..this '05 TURD w/auto.......bought it in '05 with 7K miles....now has 170K

usual stuff.......synthetic oil every 6K miles......right wheel bearing at 90K..........WTF ?

Replaced OEM Bilsteins with 5100 Bilsteins last year...helped level nose rake...

I see no reason not to have a Tacoma.....or two in the garage......

bought this ole girl new in '02......been a good solid pampered truck........

now with 116K miles.....6.0L gasser......no reason currently to replace it......

Toss up between my '95 F-150 302/5-spd ext-cab 6.5' box or current '11 F250 crew 6.75' box W/6.7L diesel.

Bought the '05 just over 100K mi, had the tie rods/ball joints done, rebuilt the tranny @ 170K, was still running great when I sold it w/195K on it.

'11 is nearing 140K. Radiator replaced @ ~80K under warrantee, EGR valve replaced @ 110K under warrantee. Never a hiccup other than those 2 things and neither left me stranded or induced a reduced power setting.

I had a couple of good ones, a 1968 Bronco with a 289" V8 three speed and 4.10 posi. and a 1985 Toyota extended cab pick up with the straight axle and the 22RE engine. Either one would go wherever I wanted.

I kept my '89 F-150 302 cab and a half, five speed the longest, but while that 302 was a screamer in my Mustang, it had no business ever being in a truck. It got it's power from higher rpm's and a 4x4 with a stick needs the power at lower rpm's. I've been way happier with the 5.4 engine / automatic in the four door F-150. It works much better with the same or better gas mileage. 6.5' box with a full four doors takes all the room in the garage and has a turning radius like a bus, but in my dotage I'm appreciating the creature comforts. Okay the six color toggle for the lighted cup ring holders is kind of superfluous, but I enjoy the truck when I drive it.

My old '96 F150 just rolled over 288,000. 5.8 is still running good and everything still works...can't complain too much about that.

2003 F-250 4x4 with a 6.0 liter diesel!!! 250k miles, just replaced turbo and injectors recently. Oh, and one front wheel bearing assembly. Other than that, knock on wood, it's been just fine.

2001 Ford superduty with 7.3L diesel.
I loved that truck. Power, comfort, room, reliability.

I've had Ford, Chevy, Dodge, and Toyota. All full sized rigs. My current is a 16 F-150.

My favorite of the lot was my 2014 Ram 1500.

I'm happy with my '10 F-150. The 5.4 isn't fast and is thirsty but it's been reliable and done everything I've asked of it. The Frontier I had preceding it was just as reliable and got a lot better mileage but didn't have nearly the space. My F-150 is certainly more satisfying to drive.

04 Taco. 220,000 miles and haven't had to replace a damn thing... Well, except for the tires and brakes...:

My favorite was a Toyota FJ62. Slow, terrible fuel mileage, but reliable over 200,000 miles. Rust finally got it. I would get another but I find pickups more useful these days.

My favorite was probably a 92 F150 Supercab 4x4, 302 auto. Great truck.

My current on, an 02 Supercrew 5.4 4x4 is probably the most useful truck I've owned. The super short bed and crew can make and excellent hunting rig that will go just about anywhere.

My wife's 2007 FJ Cruiser 4x4. 235,000 miles and runs perfect with zero rattles or creaks.

That vehicle will stay with us pretty much until the end of days.

Handwerks Toyota does free frame replacements on most of those , my 01 was done and currently has 280k ,4cyl,5 speed extended cab

Favorite........... '96 chevy 3/4 ton long box.

My Best and Favorite was a brand new 1975 GMC Heavy 3/4 pickup 4x4 with 4 in the floor, that I bought in Seminole, TX for $5000. It was Sea Foam green, and kind of looked like a Forest Service truck from a distance, which came in real handy a couple of times. The truck never failed me in the 25 years I owned it, but it did not like to be driven by women! If a woman was driving it would stall or battery would die until I got there and it would start and run fine for me. I don't know for sure how many miles it had on it when I sold it, because early on I had ripped the odometer cable out driving through oak brush, but I am sure it was in excess of 300,000 miles. It had the GM body cancer real bad on the doors and wheel wells, or I would probably still be driving it.

My 99 Land cruiser. Bought it in 2010 with 130k. It has 236 now.

2000. Tundra Ex-Cap 4x4. Bought it with 150,000 and put another 150,000 on it. Only replaced radiator and coil pack. And Regular servings. Sold it for $5200. Only Paid $7200. 7 years and 150,000 miles for $2000..

I'm not sure I'd consider any truck that was totaled/required a complete frame replacement due to rust in less than 13 years my "best ever".

1998 Chevy half ton extended cab. Bought it used. Somebody special ordered it from the factory, was a cayenne pepper color. Extended cab with 5 speed manual with a 305 vortec. Clean as a pin when I bought it, had three inch exhaust. Couple that with the small motor and 5 speed it got incredible fuel mileage. Sold it to a cousin of mine who promptly took it out and dented it up and generally thrashed it. Last I heard a preacher in Ajo Arizona had it.
