My buddy called this morning and said his 50 yo wife had decided to get armed. So we ran over to a local gun show today and started looking around. Glock 42, Glock 43, A little Sig in 9mm, model 625? maybe, Ruger LCP. Ah, I just don't know on the first three. The LCP was just too tiny, she said.
Then I pointed out an LCR 2 inch in 38 special. She fondled it for a bit, and I pointed out that with the shrouded hammer it could be fired from inside a coat pocket, or from inside a purse.
She brought it home along with 50 rds of 125 gr flatpoint cartridges, which appear to be Berry's bullets. We stopped along the road on the way home and shot up most of that first box of ammo. I was surprised that the revolver is very mild to shoot with that load and easy enough to keep the rounds on a pop can at fifteen yds. Plenty adequate for its intended purpose..
We also picked up 200 pieces of Starline brass, 100 Hornady 125 gr XTP, and 250 Berry's 125 gr FP. So now she is set up with 250 rounds loaded with Berry's 125 over 4.0 gr Titegroup which should put them to 900 fps, and a spinner target to set behind the house and shoot a few rounds every evening after work.
Later on we will throw 100 rounds together with the 125 XTP at a bit higher velocity for her SD loads.
Loaded with five rounds, the guns weighs in at 16 ounces.

Did you make it to the Lewis and Clark gun show at the Ford Idaho Center? There were some great Ruger displays there plus the selling tables. I had a table there.

Yes Marlin. That is where we purchased the LCR.
I am sorry I missed you, and any other 'Fire friends who might have been there. I made a pretty complete circuit of the venue.
I was wearing my Orange 24hour cap. I thought someone might holler out.

Sorry I missed you, there were more people there than the last 2 or 3 shows combined. Sales didn't reflect that but I had brought some misc stuff that moved ok. I go to most of those shows, and a few of the valley ones. Let ahold of me and maybe we can meet up next time.

Dave my wife likes her LCR 38 special as well. Her's has the F/O sights and she likes that pretty well. They come in all kinds of configurations but I like most of them. May end up getting some more.

After shooting this 38 a bit, I have promised myself one of the 3 inch LCR in 327. Adjustable sights and exposed hammer please.

I had zero use for the LCR's when they came out. Ugly, polymer revolver...ugh. Then my dad bought a .38 and i found out why they are so popular. Seriously considering one in .22 or .22 WMR at this point.

The LCRX3 in .357 Magnum was just released a couple of weeks ago...9mm and .327 will be following...
I was also one of the LCR Haters...until I shot a friend's .22...really sold me on the gun.

Recoil obviously is going to be minimal for women that are sensitive and it's holds 8 rounds, but the trigger is still manageable for a lady that doesn't have a strong grip.

The little LCR's are handy as a shirt pocket....actually, the front pocket on jeans. I keep thinking not to think about the new 3" x model.....it would be as handy as a back pocket.

Does anyone have one in 327? Is three inch available in 327?
I thought that I had heard about 3 inch 327. But can not find any. Possibly soon to be released?
Perhaps S&W 632 3 inch, there are a couple on gunbroker. LCRX3 soon to be released in 9 and 327, yes. My reading comprehension is slow today.

Dave the LCRX 3" is only available in 38 special, 22LR, 22 Mag, and just came out in 357 mag. Not yet available in 9mm or 327. It is assumed it won't be long, but I haven't heard anything specifically. I haven't shot one in 327 but am under the impression it's a handful. I've shot my early 357 mag with the 2" barrel and can handle it fine, I just can't shoot as fast. But I still hit with it.

I handload for three 327s now. From mild 78 gr cast to maximum 115 gr golddots. The hot 115s are pretty comfotable to shoot in a four inch SP101. They could always be tamed a bit if they turn out to be on the stiff side In the LCR.
Come on Ruger, I am waiting.
