I dated Carmen Electra for a couple months back in the 1990s.

Played basketball with Ted Danson several nights in a row in the early '90s. He was touring Prudhoe Bay for an anti-oil special. He did not like getting pushed around.
Met a bunch of NBA players over the course of several years in Seattle. Most were not worth the time. Got to sit around with Karl Malone and talk fishing.
Knew Ann and Nancy Wilson (Heart) in college.
Sarah Palin had a bunch of sewing done by my ex and I saw her many times here at my house.

I fated Carmen Electra for a couple months bask in the 1990s. I imagine that was ill-fated for her.

Rode an elevator with Craig Breedlove once. Got to hold the door to a restaurant open for Robert Smith (Wolfman Jack to those of you not so close to him). My good buddy Bob brushed on by me without so much as a "Thank you".

Flew on the same plane with Christine Blasey Ford in November.
Sold scrimshaw pieces to Rambo (arrogant little [bleep]), HW Bush, Bobby Knight, and the Brownells.
Between NRA, B&C, and SHOT Show I have met a large number of celebrities. Many that have done amazing things.

I took freshman physics from Lowell Brown in 1974 in a small honors class. I was the only passing student that was not the son of a physics professor. He was always yelling at me, "I am leaving. You think about it until I get back." I saw him on TV and the moderator would not let him use the word "quark". Then in 1994 he wrote the definitive book on quantum field theory. https://smile.amazon.com/Quantum-Field-Theory-Lowell-Brown/dp/0521469465/https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lowell_S._Brown

I met and got to spend lots of time in my youth with men that did heroic and miraculous things during WWII Including both my Grandfathers.
Yeah Ive met others that are identified as "Celebrities" but as far as Im concerned they are just dancing monkeys.

OK I am retired US Army so I did my share of traveling and bumping into celebs. A few of note and some were not military caused.
1973 sitting on the beach at Virginia Beach and some real freaky, grungy guys sit down on a blanket and play an X-rated version of Silvia's Mother. The next day the newspaper ran a story that Dr Hook played a pvt concert on the beach last night.
1976 Again Virginia Beach, I got a 58 day drop from Germany and went to visit my mother. We bought a 6-pack of Coors beer (Coors was not an east coast beer at that time) at a 7-11 for an ungodly price; probably could have bought two cases of Bud for that money. We were almost to my mother's and a tour bus parked at the motel near my mother's apartment, ZZ-Top! The first person off of the bus was a girl I knew from Pennsylvania, who was touring (groupie) with the band since they played in PA. Billy Gibbons got off and I offered him a Coors and he was delighted to have a Coors on the east coast. He said you have Coors? Come on up to the room with us.
1980 the current Chairman of the JCS, GEN Joe Dunford was my classmate in Ranger School. "Strike Hard Strike Fast Winter Rangers Freeze their Ass"
1986 met Brooke Shields outside of Rick's Lounge on Hay Street in Fayetteville, NC; man she is tall! She was at Pope AFB with Bob Hope for: "Hope at Pope, 40th Birthday of the Air Force" and wanted to check out a rowdy bar that G.I.'s frequented. She picked a friend of mine to ride her around the block on his Harley; gees I don't know why she didn't pick me as I was right there too!
1986 or 1987 I met Shifty Powers at the 101st Abn Div Reunion in Clarksville, TN. I was in the 82d and they took all former members of the 101st to Ft Campbell on 2 WV NG C-130 and we parachuted in on main post specifically for the WWII vets. Back then I did not know who Shifty Powers was, other than a WWII Paratrooper, which made him a hero in my book for that alone! He was so excited talking about watching us jump in. RIP brother!
2000 NRA Convention Philadelphia, I was in an elevator with Joe Foss, MOH Recipient, Marine WWII Ace, fmr Gov South Dakota, Host of The American Sportsman, and former NRA President. I just waved and acknowledge him respectfully, but he struck up a long conversation with me that continued all the way from the convention center to the hotel. A truly genuine hero and gentleman.
2002 I think? NRA Convention Charlotte. I ran into Peter Jennings nearly everyday. We were staying at the same hotel and apparently on the exact same schedule! We ate breakfast same time; same place. Walked to the Convention Site same route; same time. I acknowldged with a wave and greeting. Finally he had me eat lunch with him. I asked him straight up if he was a gun guy or just covering the convention. He said he was pro-gun but with some limits and that he was really just there not really covering the convention; there was no entourage and he wasn't constantly taking notes. RIP
Plenty more but we will save them for another day.

Met and chatted with Mike Dunleavy at local SCI fundraiser last May.
Met Mickey Dolenz in SeaTac 2 years ago.
Passed Dick Cavett on a sidewalk on Long Island in the 70s.
I've forged with Dennis Manning, and got to introduce Doug Butler at a conference in Kansas City in 1996.

sbrmike,
MANY people here won't have a clue as to who he is but I'd bet that you remember (at that time COL Donlon was a very junior Major.) COL Roger Donlon, late of the USA Special Forces, hero of the bloody battle at Camp Nam Dong, RVN & holder of the Medal of Honor.
On request of the Commandant of the USAIS at Ft Benning, I was assigned to take him out to lunch. - I was THRILLED & considered it an honor.
yours, tex USA, Retired

I saw Harry Truman walking around his house in 1965. I saw Lee Greenwood out on the apron at Robert Gray Airfield, Ft. Hood. My closest encounter was with Tom Brokaw at Signature Air in Des Moines when he was covering the floods in July 1993. I was in the Army Guard dropping sand bags at the Des Moines water works and we flew to Signature Air to refuel.
That covers it.

I met Carlos Hathcock in the mid 90s when he came to teach a police sniper course at the club I was rifle chairman of at the time. Great guy. His son is also a class act. He would use his day off at Camp Perry to coach the Michigan Junior Team in the Whistler Boy and then take them out for pizza. Some good ones listed but Carlos Hathcock deserves honorable mention.

When our closest reservation first opened an Indian Casino they had a lot of entertainment lined up. A bunch of us were just hanging out outside a gas station in the little town I live near now. (About 60 miles from the casino)
A big white stretch limo pulled up to the gas pumps, which in those days, was a pretty big deal. Nobody had ever saw a limousine before. The driver got out to start pumping gas and then the back door opened and out got Johnny Cash. He just looked at us and nodded his head and said "Howdy boys" and went in and did his business. We were all like "did that just happen?" lol
Met several big name pro wrestlers in the late 70's early 80's. Hulk Hogan, the Sheik, Jerry Blackwell, Rock n Roll Buck Zumhoff etc.
A couple of congressman and a former governor of ND are about the only politicians.
Was visiting an old boss on the 5th floor of a hospital when George W came to town. Got a close up view of Air Force One and the fighter jet escorts as they were landing. That was pretty cool to witness.

Claude Akins, back in the late 80's at either Atlanta or DFW I was dropped off and headed up the sidewalk to go to my departure home gate, Mr. Akins with what I assumed was his wife were standing on the sidewalk with their luggage, could hear him grumbling about something from several yards away, "deep resonate voice" I walked up and said c'mon sir, I've got your luggage, he smiled and said THANK YOU Son!
I had no luggage of my own, had been out working and traveling light, threw my chit in a pile after work, put on my going home clothes and headed in, anyway, we hadn't made it 75 yards walking when up came a buggy with a guy in it, he hurriedly took the luggage from me loaded it onto the buggy and was apologizing profusely to the Akins'
Mr. Akins helped the lady to her seat, reached and pulled out his wallet, handed me a hundred dollar bill and shook my hand, I was laughing as they drove off, could hear him grumbling again for a good bit, seemed like a real nice guy.
