Winchester came out with their model 88 is 1955. It's a lever activated bolt action with 3 lugs. Doc

The Kleinguenther rifles use small ring Mauser bases. The rifles I have were made late 70’s-early 80’s. They were guaranteed to shoot 1/2 groups, probably the first to make that claim.

The Shikar in the video is the same action as my Black Forest but mine has a more Weatherby styled stock. Pretty neat rifle and the safety is kind of unique.

The Lakelander design rifle was introduced in about 1975-76. It utilized a 2 lug, 3 lug, 6 lug, and 9 lug bolt design over the years. The design was used and manufactured by a few different companies in Scandinavia. I am not entirely sure if the first and primary TAP model made in Finland had one of the 3 lug variations or not. The 3 lug, 6 lug, and 9 lug types all were kind of a 3 lug bolt pattern, the 3 lugs were just slotted to provide more surface area. Hopefully my description of that makes sense?? All had a Sako type extractor to them. They had a very smooth action to them. I don't know if the Lakelander was the first but, certainly an early example.

I want one of the Ruger American rifles in 22-250 with the one in eight twist barrels. It would be a great pig rifle loaded with 62 grain Barnes bullets.

They have a following on some fora.

Here are two of the three other Kleinguenther rifles I have. The one on top is very Weatherby looking. The rifle on bottom and the rifle I posted earlier are special order Kleinguenther’s.

I agree, very nice action. Patriot Valley Arms offers the Nucleus barreled actions with some very nice options. https://patriotvalleyarms.com/arc-nucleus-barreled-action/SD

Here's another three lug bolt gun, a Champlin and Haskins, built by Len Brownell, both metal and wood work, even the QD rings. Here's a link to the Classifieds when I was thinking about moving it, ultimately decided to keep it. www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/11618063DF

Hawk, I have a '63 Sako Finnbear L61r in .270 Win, but, it is a two lug. Just checked it. Three lug came later maybe?

3 lug Sakos were earlier. The third lug is in the rear bridge and the back of the bolt. The Sako bolt handle also is locked into a steel channel in the side of the action...

The Sako 75 is also a 3 lug bolt, predates the 85...

I have a Voere Black Forest which is a Kleinguenther before they were Kleinguenthers. From 10’ it looks almost identical to a MKV.. That is due to Kleinguenther being the designer of the MK V

Three lugs were introduced in 1961 with the Finnbear action and discontinued in 1972; that isn't to say they didn't use them later, just that they quit making them then. And yes, if you look at the action, the third lug does have its own milled recess.

Sako 85’s are tri-lug. So, I reckon Fierce actions are.
Kenny Jarrett boasts the creation of his own tri-lug action.
Kleinguenther was a genius. I marveled when I use to talk with him.
I read that Kleinguenther was brought to the US by Roy Weatherby, hence the similarities between some of their rifle design features.
When truth is ignored, it does not change an untruth from remaining a lie.
