Considering this 22 revolver for a pack gun. Anyone have experience good or bad with this revolver?

I'm not sure if you are talking about the short barrel gun or the 3" gun. Thinking on picking up the 3" gun sometime in the near future. I also have one without the visible hammer. I like the LCR series of guns. I think Ruger did a good job of listening to people who like the lighter weight guns.

A friend just picked up an LCR in 38 spec last weekend. She has already shot 150 rds of 125 gr at 900 fps. She loves it, and I can find nothing to dislike about the gun.

I intend to purchase a three inch LCRx in 327 the minute it hits the shelves.

By the way, if Ruger follows their pattern, the 327 won't be out for another year.

More time to gather my pennies I guess.

I have a couple in the shop at Mid-Star right now that are going to cost a bit. So the wait is fortuitous.

I don't have the X version but I have the original snub nose DAO.

One of the greatest handguns ever conceived. Lots of friends and relatives have bought them and everyone loves them.

Infinitely practical I think a 3" X would be even more so.

I was in the market for a lightweight .22 “kit” gun to throw on while hiking, mowing, working in the garden, etc. After review and handling both the S&W 317 and the 3 inch LCRx, I chose the ruger. It rides at 5:00 in a D.M. Bullard Body Guard and I barely know it is there.

I have never really tried to shoot for small groups, but at 25 yds I have no problem consistently hitting a 10 inch gong and ground hogs and opossums at 5-20 yds are not a problem. Great with snake shot in the chicken coop. At 0-5yds very small targets are not a problem. While it does not have a target trigger, double action on mine was better than I expected and single action is quite nice. Very little wear after a year of carrying, although a bit of rust has popped up on the rear sight and the cylinder release, undoubtedly due to sweat and humid conditions here in VA.

The only thing I do not like about it is that POI changes dramatically between ammo types, so find something that is likes and stick with that.
I love mine, and I don’t think you will be disappointed in the 3 inch LCRx .22, as long as you do not have unreal expectations.

Thanks for the replies. Mostly it will be a trail gun as I have better ones for targets but they are too heavy for casual use.
