I don't follow the record books much. How would that stand up in the B&C books? Do they use the same measuring system as P&Y?

If any new world records on mule deer are set, they will likely come from Sask. They do a good job at managing for age, and have good genetics. Beautiful deer.

The sour look on the hunter's face is funny. Had it been me, I'd be grinning from ear to ear

Great buck!!!
As I recall, the B&C and P&Y scoring system is the same.

I am going to go against the grain here....
That for sure is a great buck, bigger than anything I have ever killed, but it doesn't look anywhere near a world record to me. Net or gross: Henry Kelsey, B&C or P&Y: even with all that trash that doesn't look like a 290" deer to me.
I by no means am not saying I wouldn't be happy as hell with that deer...

Very true....I am not suggesting that the provincial and world record claims are false...just that that deer doesn't look like 290" to me.

I'm sure Dennis is a big sumbitch, that being said, that bucks frame ain't very big, but he's got a lot of extras that add up......

Shrap, no numbers on that thing?
That first deer looks like it has a 20β spread. Must be a lot of extra horn off the back weβre not seeing.

Could be that Dennis is 6'8" and 280 pounds He sure makes that ball cap look small and he has huge hands. WR halibut was caught by a 6'8" guy and the current WR AK/Yukon moose was killed by a huge man also... They both made their records look small.

5 by 5 typical frame with 15 abnormal points on each side Apparently there are a lot of points that don't show in the photos. They all add to the score.

A skilled photographer could have made that buck look huge. Kind of nice to see a normal pic of a buck.

That is a huge deer, but is over 50 inches off of the world record. #1 Non-typical Mulie is 355 and some change if I remember correctly.

Cool looking rack. Just a whole bunch of everything going on there.
Agreed on the pics. Sure is hard to tell sometimes. Ol' Bill Dance showed the world the arm stretch and now you have folks perched 20 feet behind an animal trying to make it look like something it ain't. Lol.

Another buck showed up last week from CO that an archery hunter killed. Sounds like it will be the new nt P&Y world record mule deer, and 3rd all time. It scores right around 348_gross. Two official scorers have scored it. The hunter hasn't decided if he will have the velvet removed, so it can be officially scored. It was, shot sep 2018. in the high country. Quite a buck.

Fenced area or unfenced? They should start another P&Y, one for fenced animals and one without. Same as in Guiness world records. The fastest human runner with assistance from drug and another for runners not on drugs. Not kidding its presented like that.
It is better to be judged by 12 than to be carried by 6.

Two other guys hunting with him stating the same thing.According to the article, everything is above board. They never posted anything on social media, which was smart. You can find it on Rokslide site. Probably other places too.
