Does anybody have the tool used to turn the 2-pin through bolts/lug reinforce piece that was installed on some M70's at the factory? Or more of those old bolts?

Hey test1328: Thanks for finding that bit. I'll keep looking for the vintage style cross-bolt.

It's best to use the correct tool, however I used right angle snap ring pliers to snug them up on my Super Express.

I might have a couple of cross-bolts for the mid-90's super grades.

The Winchester cross bolts I have use a allen wrench to tighten them. Much better. Phil

I've used some of these too, but only on the period-correct stock.

I have always made my own pin spanner tools. Take a hex head bolt which has a large enough head to cover the holes, carefully measure center to center dimension of the holes and lay it out on the bolt head. I use RCBS headless decapping pins which take a #45 bit. Drill the holes and tap the pins in, trim to just long enough to go to the back side of the nut. Using a hex head bolt allows the use of a wrench to tighten.

^^^^^ Good tip! I'll probably forget it when I need it, but that's on me!
