Has any body cleaned rifle brass....300 win mag, in a harbor freight rock tumbler using stainless steel shot media? The shot i have access to is smaller than a BB. Youtube is showing stainless steel pins in a tumbler.

That's what I've been using for the last 10 years is the SS pins - I've not heard of anyone using shot.

Put 18 shells of 300 win mag in a rock tumbler. All I had in the rock polishing kit was plastic or glass beads bigger than a BB and some jars of powders with different grit . I put a sprinkle of the fine grit in. Ran for an hour. The brass plugged up with beads. The brass is clean on the outside. Inside...... its not shinny........ outside is not shinny as well but clean. I left primers in during tumbling. I just started doing this with what was in the house. The kids rock machine has not run for 10 years at least. Has like one week of run time total.

The shot media a got was just to small to even try. It would have plugged flash holes and maybe even damaged some deprimer pins. Spilling some would have be a pain to clean up. Thru it out. I will just use up what came in the rock tumbler kit for now. Works and kinda free, sorta.
