I guess I should say I want another lever action and have narrowed it down to three from the bucket list even though they don’t really have anything in common. I have it natrowed down to a Browning 71 .348 carbine (has one and sold it in fit of stupidity), Winchester repro 1895 .405 Winchester, and a Browning Model 53 .32-20 WCF. All are around the same price and have all piqued my interest from when I was younger. I just can’t make up my mind

I'll vote for the Browning 71. Good luck in your search.

Just picked up a Bighorn Armory 89 in 500 S&W. Really impressed so far.

i like the newer lever way Browning BLR`S these rifles use a clip/magazine so cartridges don`t get wreck ,these BLR`S can handle much more powerful cartridges and are way more accurate with a scope too . try one you probably will agree ?

I have all those you list, and by far the one I shoot much more is the 53 in .32-20. Just how many .405s or .348s can one shoot pleasurably in a range session?

You NEED an unfired Miroku/Winchester 1895 Deluxe in .405 WCF as above. You can shoot factory Hornady 300 grain ammo OR reload ammo from 210 grain .41 mag bullets to a variety of 300 grainers, or 400 grain .410-.411 Hornady and Woodleigh bullets. The latter for DG as Cape Buff in pic to the left.

PS You can shoot 210 grain cast or jacketed for as long as you like.
The full house 400 grain Woodies at 2100 fps are not for snowflakes, but shot off hand, you get used to them. They make 300 grain Northforks feel like practice ammo.

I love the selection! I’d go with the Winchester in .405.

Browning 1895 in 30-40 Krag! 405 if you must.

Boy that's a tough one, think I'd go 348..... 405 would be cool too
Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.

Hornadys 348 ammo makes it handy too...

For just plain fun to shoot, you cannot beat the 32-20. Buy all three, then you decide which you like best and sell the other two.

If you have all the full strength firearms you need, this is good advice. Nowadays, I am mostly looking for fun/easy to shoot guns when I look for another lever. Pistol cartridges or stuff that shoots cast slowly and well. That wouldn't be a 348 or 405.

It depends - Bears or squirrels?
My gun cabinet needs a 405 Win. But the 32-20 would get shot 10x more.
I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally

I own a Browning M71 Carbine and the M53 and I shoot the M53 a lot more than the M71. Just a fun gun.

Or, a high grade Browning 71 .348! That is sweet. Love to have that. Heck, I'd settle for a 64.
