Well, I guess we now know how much Russian support costs.

1 metric ton equals 32,150.7 troy ounces. Doesn't that eqate to 643,014 troy ounces or roughly 836 million $?

Let's look at the math:
20 tons = 40,000 lb. = 640,000 oz. At a spot price of $1,306/oz., 20 tons is worth about $834,840,000!
This is a far cry for the billions owed by Venezuela to Russia, but it's a start. Screwed up the first translation with an extra zero... 20 tons is 643,015 Troy ounces= $839,777,590 or long tons 653,333 Troy ounces= $853,252,898 or short tons 583,333 Troy ounces= $761,832,898

Typical 777 payload is generally over 200,000 pounds. Here’s the plane: The gold would fit quite easily + the Venezuelan bus driver, his wife, his “putas,” extended family, and a lot of his minions.

This is a far cry for the billions owed by Venezuela to Russia, but it's a start. Except that gold is measured in Troy ounces. There are approximately 14.583 Troy ounces in an avoirdupois pound. 40000 pounds = $770,250,727.20 Based on Spot Gold price of: $1,320.46

40,000 pounds is a very light load. As Longbob said, 200,000 lbs. is easily doable for it. Once you get up there in cargo you start having to trade cargo capacity for fuel if you're flying a long way so say you're doing Hong Kong to New York you might only be able to carry 150,000 lbs because of the fuel weight. A 40,000 lb load and fuel to fly from Caracas to Moscow is no sweat. That 777 in the picture looks to be the 777-300ER variant which doesn't have quiet the range as a -200LR or a 777 freighter, but it's still got plenty of range to carry that to Moscow.

Yes. It is an airlifting beast. A Boeing 777 weighs 304,000 pounds empty (152 tons), with a max takeoff weight of 775,000 pounds (387.5 tons), which yields a useful load (fuel+cargo+passengers) of 471,000 pounds (235.5 tons). Even with a maximum fuel load of 31,000 gallons of jet fuel (at 6.8 pounds per gal or 210, 800 pounds/105.4 tons), the aircraft can lift 130 tons of payload and carry it 7500 nautical miles at Mach 0.8.
