Their smaller design and reduced profile may produce a snappier gun and increase felt recoil to your palm, but I'd wager most people that struggle with that have a hard time with double stacked guns to begin with. Yes if we're talking about slow fire. Not so much if we're talking about more realistic defensive drills. Huh? Maybe at the esoteric level described in the post, not at the level of what I see at the range. A smaller gun is tougher to shoot. I don't see how that could apply to slow fire and not "realistic defensive drills." In slow fire, you can stop and readjust your grip between shots. You can't if you want to shoot El Presidente, Mozambique, The Test, or any of dozens of other standard, timed, scored drills AND get a passing score within the par time. Okie John
If Montana had a standing army, a 270 Win with Federal Blue Box 130's would be the standard issue.

Let's go to the board:
Bigger, heavier guns are generally easier to use than smaller, lighter guns. Am I keeping up? Yep. And the faster you want to go, the harder it is with a smaller, lighter gun. Okie John

Okie John I get it. I'm trying to understand what it has to do with what I wrote.

When I do go shooting I only bring two cartridges. That way I'm sure to exercise all the fundamentals. Doing it once a year double secret probation makes me concentrate.

Be sure to turn your head to the side so that nothing in your face gets in the way of the target.

I still wanna try one of those .380 EZ's. My girlfriend bought one and I have shot it a bit. I was impressed. It almost made me want to buy a .380. Almost.

It's the first gun my wife likes to carry in the woods when she hikes. It's loaded with Buffalo Bore hard casts. Glockdoofus would have a stroke, so let's keep that between ourselves.

What holster does she use for it? El cheapo nylon with a strap that goes over the rear of the slide and snaps on the side. If you are used to a Glock trigger, this one is different and the reset is different.

They're all a compromise but I think the single stack, polymer, striker fired 9mm's are about perfect for shootability and concealment. I agree, my only disappointment is most of the triggers blow pretty bad,,,,but with some simple tuning and lubrication points they are acceptable. Even my Q5 Match is crappy, though touted to be the best striker trigger on the market. You might wanna try the LC9s or the XDs. Better triggers than most service pistols...

Walthers have better triggers than both of them, and Sigs do easily in DA.

Which Walther of comparable size has a trigger better than the LC9s? The LC9S has one of the best striker fire triggers out there.

The XDS trigger is horrid, very heavy and stacks to all hell....if you start changing springs & honing metal it might get better. The LC9S is certainly an improvement over the LC9, which was a screwjob to Ruger customers...but both that I tried had a lot of take up, and too much over travel for me. Though the LC9S didn't stack, and the wall reasonable for a carry piece.
