It's called civil asset forfeiture.

Be careful. I know an Airplane mechanic who almost lost $100,000 that he had saved for retirement it was on a pallet and shrink wrapped and the money was dated so it was obviously older than anything they thought he might have done, but couldn't prove and he had to sue them to get his money back, which took months.

Their are a lot of good ones but there are a lot of bad ones also. I try to stay out of the way and keep my nose clean. I don't trust anything to do with Gov't.

Most put their ego & authority complex way ahead of truth & integrity.

You're not a cop, therefore you must be a bad guy & so you cannot be trusted is the prevailing view with most of them.

I dont trust a lot of people, because the majority of people are liars, [bleep], and cheats. I dont really care what a scumbag does for a living.

Especially dont trust anyone up in higher management in just about any profession. They are more often than not the worst of the worst that society has to offer.

A lot more than the average mechanic.

I do, have been around cops from all over the world for better than 30 years, have never had the first hint of trouble from any of them, including the ones that didn't speak English, hell, just last year I got pulled over for speeding by an Ok HI-PO, I was late for and opening that came up due to cancellation to get an MRI for a right shoulder rotator cuff tear, that Copper had the audacity to fasten my seat belt for me and gave me a verbal for running 72 in a 65, BTW, he did all that in plain view of a Sig 226 40 cal hanging from under the armrest without shooting me too.

The other reason you can't trust them is so many are such awful liars. They take Frazier v. Cupp as their license to lie to anyone for what ever serves their purpose.

The video said whites get their money back much more than blacks. Wonder why?

Here's another example, big snow storm on the Poteau bypass a few years ago, I'm driving home in my 4x4 1 ton and see a woman out in the median with a small child in a seat strapped in the front seat, she gave me a horrified look as I passed, I locked my rig in 4x4, turned around right there and went out in the median to get her.

I told her the roads were worse back up North and ask where she was going, she said if you can pull me out I'm going back home, I said okay, great, I was getting a tow strap out of the toolbox, looked up to see a Poteau Cop on the shoulder up ahead with his lights on warning traffic about the situation, I found a little hook on the front of her car, hooked the strap on my drop hitch and pulled her out and did a u turn and got her headed back South towards her home.

I then looked up to see a OHP HI-PO on the other side with his lights on warning other drivers, I got out, unhooked the young mother, she took off, I waved at both cops and we all went our separate ways.

If Cops are universally chit, how did that situation happen without me getting billy clubbed, tased, dog bit, truck impounded, fined heavily and took to jail?

Because we work for a living and can provide financial records of where the money came from.

If a person is in a position that "generally" gets them respect, simply because they hold that position, it's my experience that they let it go to their head and soon do things that are very underhanded. Power corrupts, IMO.

As much a you can trust doctors, lawyers, plumbers, salesmen, etc, etc... , Good lord these threads are straight out of Jr High.

For the most part everyone starts out with a fair degree of trust. Still realize though that many, regardless of trade, may be unscrupulous.
