I am trying not to buy current Taurus manufacture I think they have made so good stuff but seems like some issues with some these days But they are innovative and I see the new 692 Tracker
One gun 2 cylinders 38/357. And 9mm 3 and 6 in
I think I would like a 3in I don't know if it uses moonclip or not

Taurus can put out some decent stuff as well as some not so decent. My observation is, the workmanship does up when the Brazilian economy has been stable for a while but goes down when their economy gets bumpy.

I have four older Trackers and one semi-auto...
.41 Magnum 4" Titanium .41 Magnum 6" Titanium .41 Magnum 4" Stainless .45 ACP 4" Stainless
All have been excellent shooters...
Wish they were still making their Titanium Trackers, they are a LOT better than the S&W AirLite line.... My two .41s, 357PD and 357NG, were miscible to shoot and went down the road...the Trackers are still all here.

A friend bought a 5 shot 44. Like a 69. I really liked fondling it, never shot it. Ported, but I wear double ear protection at the range. Without, it has to be awful.

It's not a matter of whether Taurus can make good stuff, but if. Buyer beware.

I've had great luck with Taurus over the last ten years or so.

I've owned 2 Taurus Trackers. The triggers where just a tad gritty and a little heavy. They never failed in any way.
Last year, I bought a S&W 329PD and a Ruger 7-shot GP100. They BOTH had to go back. They BOTH were replaced (not repaired). I sent back a Ruger Alaskan. It had to be repaired.
Nobody can convince me that there's a significant difference in Q/C between Taurus and the others. It's the customer service AFTER the sale that differs. Based on experience, Ruger is best. S&W is a distant second. I've heard that Taurus is horrible, but unless they flat out ignore you, they can't be that much worse than Smith.
If you can shoot a box of ammo through the gun or trust the word of the current owner, a good running Tracker is a bargain.

I've had a couple Taurus 454's and still have one. Both very accurate. The one I still have has shot 3" 5 shot groups for me at 100.
I really like the PT111's for a carry gun. Mine's gone bang everytime and chambers everything I've ran through it. I like that it's a 12 round mag, too, given the size. A bargain, too. That being the least important.

I haven't had a LOT of Taurus, but I've never had a bad one. Maybe I've just been lucky. I've had 3 of the small 38's and they were just fine. I've had 44 Specials 431 and 441 a couple of each that worked very well. I've still got a PT111 and I like it. As RickyD said small piece with a 12 round mag. What more can you ask for.
