The leak isn't that fast. I hang the yak under my deck rafters in the winter. I'll let it partway down and pour a gallon of water inside it, then wait for the drip. Drain, dry, and seal.

Rocky Are you talking about your peddle kayak? Couldn't you use a pencil soldiering iron and weld upl the leak?

You mean my PEDAL Hobie. Yes. But I don't know if it's a crack, a pinhole, or where I installed a thru-hull sonar transducer.

Started shoveling out the garage yesterday. If memory serves me right, my boat's out there somewhere behind that pile of boxes. Might have to use GPS and a Sherpa to get to it........Hope to gain sight of it after work tonight......

Lots of ice here yet, so not a huge sense of urgency yet. Next week may see this project kick into high gear though.

I removed the pedestal seats today, and was able to lift the floor out. The guy who had it before me replaced the floor two years ago. He obviously did the cheap as possible-I'm selling the boat next spring job on it. To be honest, if I was in his shoes, I'd have done the same thing. The flooring is particle board, and it doesn't appear to have been sealed in any way. I'm going to seal everything I can, and move on from there. He had just screwed the pedestals into the particle board with wood screw, which didn't hold. I'm going to remount all the pedestals with stainless nuts, bolts, and fender washers. If I planned on hanging on to this boat, I'd do it the right way with marine grade plywood, but this is a one year deal. Next spring I'll get another Lund. This boat's okay, but it's bigger than I need. I want a 16 ft. Lund, either a single console or a tiller steer with power trim and tilt and no more that a 50 h.p. motor. This boat's a handful for me to jockey around. When I bought it, I thought I got what I wanted, but now I see it's more than I need or want.

Particle board? Really? What a Putz! Get a piece of plywood. and make it look nice and sell it with a clear concience. By the way, up around the Chicago area, Lund is the best you can get. 16 ft, I think is ideal. They used to make a guide model that was REALLY wide and I'd go for that. An electric start 50 horse Evinrude or Yamaha should do you fine! have zero faith in Mercury. The consol will give you a place to sit in the middle of the boat and protect you from the rain a bit.

I don't want to put the time or money into it Fubarguy. I'll give full disclosure to the prospective new owners.
