I'm reminded of an old "National Lampoon" story about an ancient Asian gentleman utilizing his "organic stir-frying tool" to prepare his meal. Probably no one else knows that one.

National Lampoon Magazine was the greatest comedic incubator and influences of the last half of the 20th century.

She shares the recipe, but you cant reproduce it.

No MIracle Whip, and no pickles or olives either. A little celery salt, sea salt from a grinder, and pepper from the grinder. Mayo with a dash of mustard, some hard boiled eggs. A little paprika for color. That's how we roll.

I slow smoke brisket, pork butt, ribs, chicken, etc. I make a helluva biscuit, and killer gravy to put on it. i grill a mean steak or burger. I make an apple pie or a blackberry cobbler that people slobber over, I make awesome burritos, chimis. and tacos. I can make good chuck roast. corn beef, fried chicken, fried tenderloin, and a lot of other stuff. I am a damn good cook, according to a lot of other people.

I do NOT, under any circumstances, make a potato salad, because my wife makes it perfectly, and I have no need or desire to attempt to better it. Her schitt rules, and that is all. I know it has potatoes, mustard, celery, onion, parmesan, and “stuff” in it. That is all I need to know. Other than if it is cold yet and do I have to share it.

............ In Germany each region has a different style, like regional recipes here in the states. We always thought my great grandmother's recipe was an old family recipe. She was born in Bavaria in 1870 and came here circa 1881. My mother toured Germany in the late 1980's after she retired and she noticed different styles of potato salad in different regions. When she got to Bavaria she said every restaurant served potato salad just like grandma used to make. So much for that "old family recipe" idea, lol.
