Guys,
Do the Tikka T1X's take the same rings/bases as the centerfires?
Specifically I have a set of Talley lows for a Tikka T3X
Thanks,
jerry

You can use the Talley lows. That's what I have on mine. The drilling is the same as T3/T3X. If you choose to use the dovetail it's not the same as the T3/T3X that's where you would need the 11mm dovetail.

Are you saying a shooter can either use the dovetail or remove it and use normal rings mounted to the receiver?

Dovetail is machianed into the receiver. He is saying it is drilled and tapped. You can put Talley light weights directly onto the receiver and dove tail.
The dovetail flat that would mate with the rings is very narrow though.

Since I will not have the rifle in my hands for a week or so............. What do you think would be the best way to mount a scope. Use the 11 mm base or remove it and install Tally lightweights?

You can’t remove the dovetail. It’s machined into the action.
I’d get rings for an 11mm dovetail or get a pic rail for it from DIP and what ever pic rings you like.

I have a set of milled (16 Bore) extra lows on my T1X..... had to shorten the screws, other than that they work great Talley rings

I ordered a Dip picatinny rail ($40) for my wifes rifle. Gives here a little more leeway on where to mount the scope. Plus I have a few sets of Warne (weaver style) rings laying around. The rail slides over the dove tail then clamps into position so it should lock in pretty solid on a rimfire rifle.
