replacing the factory butt pad with a limbsaver. But I can't tell what type of screws the tikka uses phillips, torx, allen, etc. Too deep can't see it with a flashlight. Anyone know? Thanks for the help.

Make sure and double check this, but I believe I used a 11/2 x 10 stainless steel screw. The limbsaver screw has to be just a little longer than the screw that comes with the stock butt pad.

or you could go with a flip-flop pad, forget the screws and save 4 ounces, keeping your lite light ...

I took off the old butt pad and pushed the old screw up and out of the butt pad to look at. It came out sort of hard, but I just pushed the pointy end down on a piece of wood then pulled/screwed it out.

I put a Libsaver on a T3 a few months ago. Seems I stuck a Philips down the hole and it was the right choice. Pretty sure of it.

my Sako 75 is a #2 Phillips. Don't see why they would go away from that on the Tikka and the same size limbsaver that fits it fits the Tikka. so... #2 Phillips is my recommendation.

Why use Phillips when a Robertson works so much better? O, wait! You can only get Robertsons in Canada.

asked handwerk on this forum because I couldn't figure it out with a flash light either Anyway I also put some dish soap on the driver just to slide it in easy, (also a suggestion) and worked the driver until I felt it lock in as a phillips will do before I started torking. Steve

OHHHHHHHH!!! When I read over the instructions, it said to wet down the screwdriver. Put a big WTH look on my face. Now I understand . But the jobs already been done. Anyway I also put some dish soap on the driver just to slide it in easy, (also a suggestion)
