Lots of things tear up ground nesting game birds. Red ants, possums , armadillos, coons, snakes, yotes
They put a dent in Turkey eggs around here and poults that 1st couple of days after they hatch.
Worst around here is people Bush hogging in the spring all dead growth they could done earlier than the 1st week of April or waited till mid may forward after nesting is done.
Never occurred to a grown azz man just swat the fugging thing??? Or was he not wanting to harm its pesky little spazoid flying azz???

Hey me and slumlord discussed a hummingbird Srebrenica. Pics for around mid may to mid June for your veiwing pleasure maybe.
Usually about 7 or 8 hummingbirds die in his greenhouse or outdoor kitchen each yr. Batting themselves silly on the semi clear siding stuff in elevated areas. Exhaustion and heat or a combo of both gets em after several hours like the grim reaper. Save all them corpses in the freezer Get a toy bulldozer Couple GI Joe's with wpns standing around. Dig a small grave and stage a bulldozer mass grave picture.
Started blooming down here a month ago, almost done.

all hamsters today are the descendants of the only two ever found in the wild in europe.
