The reason Islamofacists’ killing of innocents is horrifying is because it is a dehumanizing act of objective (I say this as a Christian agreeing with an Atheist, AS) evil. The same goes here; we can’t have it both ways.
One can hold to two positions at the same time:
1) a white guy killing innocent Muslims is the same as Islamofactists killing innocent Americans
2) multiculturalism on a national level is a failed experiment and steps need to be taken to peacefully separate peoples of different cultures to avoid this sort of violence becoming the norm

Sounds like you NZ'ers think you have a special group of muslims - have you seen what's happening in Europe ? Must be some of that magic soil I've read about - once your muslims stand of NZ real estate they change to great people . The word NAIVE comes to mind .
I'd like to know the number of muslims in NZ who are working and supporting themselves 100% - bet it's real low since they seem to be very parasitic .
Most non white immigrants here are wealthy Asians so basically, the Muslims haven't got much of a presence and so far they haven't caused any trouble. Sure, they're only in small numbers here so that may be why. Don't know how many of them are on welfare. Personally, I don't know any, have only ever met a few of them and don't think there are any living in my small forestry town. Knowing my fellow countrymen though, I'm sure most of them aren't too enamoured with the multiculturalism idealism.
Most NZ'ers are well aware of the problems large Muslim immigration has caused in other western countries. Contrary to that, there are plenty, my ex wife included, who are very naïve about the Islamic world. She, of course, is a dyed in the wool democrat (called Labour party here) and thinks we should take in even more refugees from the cesspools of the world. I divorced her years ago.
There is a lot of good reading and humorous and intelligent stuff by many on this forum. What is also apparent though, to even a blind man, is the extreme level of paranoia and hate that some posters have. Not just hate for muzzies but hate for just about everything.

I'm 66 years old and I'm dismayed at the direction this country (NZ) is going in. It used to be a wonderful place, still is in many ways but it's definitely sliding down the slope a lot like Oz, and the U.S. are and many other western nations.

Psychologically, Conservatives are very high in disgust sensitivity, and very closed to new experiences, including those from other cultures. This paradigm is not unique to Islam. You can replace "Islam" with any other group and the same applies. Genocides occur with a disportinate percentage of wealth is concentrated with a small minority in a country with a clear majority.
Typically the numbers have to be around and 80% majority wanting the assets of a 10% minority. Regardless of the labels applied the the Majority and Minority groups, the conditions for genocide are ripe.

Ive never in my life believed the rhetoric that the US was heading for another civil war.
In the past 5 years I've come to believe it is. It will be a combination of civil unrest from the left (sound familiar) and foreign influence. Reminds me of our last civil war though the issues sure have changed a great deal. Talk about a 180!!!

My late Grandmother in Law was an expert fisherwoman. Even wrote a story about her in the Mackenzie Muster.
Her favorite spot was Lake Opuha.
It was her families land that was flooded when the dam was built, probably why she like the area so much. I spent a week there getting my FIL's jet boat running.
It was old then...but he was proud of it. It had been tuned by Hamilton himself.
I have not been around the North Island much....all my family is South Island folk.
