Artemis scopes have a steel tube. Meopro's have an aluminum tube.

I've owned 5-6 Meopro scopes in various variable powers and 2 R1 Meostar variable power scopes. All were reliable and tracked as they should. I wouldn't consider the glass in Meopro's as alpha glass but based on my experience with them it's better than comparable priced Leupold, Nikon, Vortex etc. The R1 and especially R2 Meostar glass is very good.

The third was not on the paper. Both the range manager and a gun smith that was there tried to get that scope back on zero...no way. It was gone. I called Meopta and they said they had no other complaints and I must have done something to it. Thank goodness I always bring a second rifle. When I got home I took it off the rifle and put it in the original box. I called to see if Meopta would fix it but they said to send it back at my cost and they would look at it. (At a cost) I just chalked it up to a bad company and tossed the scope in the bottom of my safe. That said, I have a friend that also has one and he loves it.

I've got 3 and love them. One 6x42 W #4 reticle and 2 of the 3.5x10x44RD's w/ illuminated dot #4 reticles. To me, the 3.5x10x44RD has it all at an affordable price, good glass. 1" tube, large enough objective (44mm) to help with low light hunting, but not too large to prevent low mounting, not too heavy, 16.7 ounces, and my old eyes are really starting to appreciate that illuminated dot reticle, especially late in evening hunts. Also, adjustments are very solid, All of this for about $650. I know, you all can get them for less in "the land of plenty". RJ

I ordered one of the Meostar R2 1.7-10x42 earlier this week. I'll be looking forward to seeing how it does.

Meopta 6X with a #4 reticle has become my favorite scope. I have several.

I see a big box store is closing out their 4.5-14x44mm Scopes with the 'HashMarks Reticle'....but I'm not sure what comparable model it would be to the 'Real' Meopta line.
The Cabela's Instinct is the brand of course. They even have adjustabel parallax from 30+. Was thiking of putting it on a .22lr since the parallax could adjust fairly low (overkill yes, but I like overkill and quality glass). Anyone have some experience with these?
Supposedly the BDC hash marks only work when dialed up to 'MAX' zoom on the scope, but Meopta website doesn't list a BDC calculation for rimfires.

I have a Meopro 3.5-10x 44mm and it is my favorite scope. I wish I would have bought two a few years back when they were on sale.

The Cabela's Instinct is a Meopro. It's a good scope although it only has 43 MOA for windage and elevation. Not sure what you looked at on the Meopta site but their ballistic calculator can be used for 22 rimfires and you can set the scope power to different setting on the calculator which will equate to different yardages for the BDC reticle.

Does anyone have a true picture of the #4 reticle. The one on the website looks 3 times as thick as any I've ever looked at.

Well, seeing as it is now worthless to you, I'll offer you $50 plus shipping for the broken scope as long as the exterior and glass remain pristine. You'll be $50 ahead and will be rid of the junk cluttering up your safe. smile

I will look, but I am not sure I can retrieve them if they are on photo bucket. I did have images of Meopta's #4 reticles. Keep in mind that they use variations of the #4 without designating the differences. The #4 in the 3.5-10x44 is much thinner and wider than those in the R1 3-12x56, 4-12x40, etc., or the MeoPro 6x, 3-9x and 4-12x50, for instance. The #4 in the R2 8x56 is basically a wide duplex.

This is the only one I have handy. It was in a 6X42 that I sold here recently:

Ghostman, thanks for the direction pointing....I see there are aftermarket scope dials available, but I did not see any 22lr data listed in the Meopro website......for .22lr do I have to just load custom data?

This year at Shot I meet Randy from Meopta. Doug asked me to check them out. I really liked what I saw and was looking forward to doing some reviews for them. Well today I'm going to the range to start testing 2 scopes and a spotter. Ill keep you guys posted.

bls72bmw

In the ammunition section of the calculator select CCI ammunition for the ammunition manufacturer, then select 22 LR for caliber. In the cartridge drop down menu there are a 15 CCI .22 LR loads listed . Select the load you use and fill out the rest of the ballistic data.

If you use another brand of 22 ammo the same bullet weight and velocity should be very close to the CCI loads.

GuideGun, I have been on the fence thinking about getting that same scope so I'm looking forward to reading your review.

Has Meopta published reticle dimensions anywhere?
