Well, it came in the mail today so I haven't had a chance to get it bloody.  I have no doubt it'll be work nicely – the tapered tang is a nice touch.

On a budget, eh? Dexter SkinnersThey may be too long for you as the "trade" uses longer blades generally than hunters today. Ain't pretty but they all work if you can...:) I used a 6" Dexter skinner until it began to take on the appearance of a boning knife--that's being cheap...
