At least Keltecs, while having a horrible trigger, work. Just ask Trevon Martin 😜

Ruger EC9S at that price point. Any of the guns that jimmyp listed if you're not a cheapskate.

And I can find the Ruger Lc9S Pro for around 2.5 bills as well...

hard to find anything that shoots better or is more comfortable to carry...

Really? So you are saying that the larger, heavier and discontinued LC9S Pro is more comfortable to carry than the smaller, lighter widely available PF9?

PF9 is proven...to suck. Mossberg is unproven. Shield is a known quantity and to a lesser extent, so is the P365. I have no experience with the latter. Personally, I would choose the Shield but I would rather have the older M&P Compact. You get extra rounds and a wider surface area to spread the recoil out with the slight expense of being bulkier than the Shield. The P365 may be the answer, but I've never owned one.

If you are looking for the best deal, get a Taurus PT111 G2C. PSA has them on sale for 200 bucks and free shipping. They have decent triggers and a staggered mag that holds 12 rounds. I've had one for a while now and have never had a FTF with anything I've put through it. It's a long time design and has been very successful.

I find the PF9 acceptable when it is summer and I live in board shorts. It fits in the right leg velcro pocket perfectly. It is light and with the pocket holster doesn't print horribly. Looks like a wallet in the pocket. I don't shoot it often but every time I have it went bang and cycled. Is it ideal? No not by any means, but for my needs it has functioned fine.

We have both the PF9 and the LC9sPro here at the house. Every local shop carries the Ruger. My son had to order the PF9. We both agree that the slightly heavier Ruger is easily more reliable, more accurate, more comfortable to shoot, and less fussy about ammo.

In fact the Lc9sPro easily and accurately runs every type of ammo it's been fed, which includes brass, steel and aluminum cases, and everything from bargain basement bulk stuff to high$ defense premium.

So far the only ammo that has run fully reliable in the PF9 is Speer Gold Dot G2, but we've tried about everything we have.

And my son paid more for the PF9, last fall, than what I can buy the Lc9s for today...

If I was gonna go cheap, my first choice would be the Ruger Lc9. Ruger’s actually work.

I had a PF9, and rather liked it for CC. Only shot reloads through it but it always functioned fine. A friend needed a pistol so I gave it to him. May buy another some day.
