I found some cheap plastic J-frame grips for my 442 that were almost like a grip adapter, with some extra material behind the triggerguard. I then added some electrical tape. Worked really well when I needed hyper-concealment, but with much more control than the stock grips. I now have rubber Hogues on it in retirement; no issues concealing under a T-shirt on a hot TX day.

Those are Hideout boot grips RGK. I have a set on a 2” M10 K frame. I bought mine from Brownells way back, they only cataloged them for 1 year. Think they only cost me $13 but I like them for a concealment gun, snag free and narrow but fill in behind the trigger guard like you say.

Edit. Just googled them and Brownells has them again. $18, pretty cheap to try them out if you want

Pachmyr is what I use on my 642. Big improvement over any of the others I tried and fit my relatively small hands extremely well for a small gun.

I have found the grips made by Craig spegel, in nehalem, Oregon,to be the best comfortable grips ever made.
