I didn't see a badly coached game. Auburn was hot and Kentucky started playing tight after Auburn ran on them.

Kentucky *always* has Freshman dominated teams and they don't handle adversity very well.

They went about as far as they should have gone. They're a good team but they're not a dominant team. Calipari got as much out of them as he could.

Kentucky should have won

Cal is going to have to assess his coaching approach, especially if Johnson and Herro leave to go pro

He's not going to see another final four with 4 freshmen on the floor

We lost the SEC regular season, SEC tournament and the NCAA tournament to veteran , Senior laden teams.

It's a miracle KU isn't in NCAA trouble with Cal at the helm, if history is any indicator.

Cal came up a bit short recruiting this year,..as he has a couple of times. He ended up with a "good" journeyman 5th year center and a "good" point guard.

To win it all you have to have a team that's special in both of those positions. Cal was recruiting Zion Williams hard, but he didn't get him.

Bristoe, I always enjoy your posts, but you're giving Calipari way too much Credit. Kentucky, Duke, and NC every year, get about 50% of the Blue chip High school players in the country, Then they cry about them being Freshmen. Calipari couldn't beat an Auburn team with their best player on the bench with an injury. He's the most overrated Division one coach in the country, well maybe #2, but wont give you #1, but you probably already know.

He's still got better talent than 95% of everyone else.

It's UK,...and as far as I've seen, Cal stays close enough to the rules to stay out of trouble. Louisville literally turned the basketball dorm into a whore house to get recruits. North Carolina was just passing out credit hours to the basketball players that weren't even going to class for a couple of decades and got nothing but a slap on the wrist for it.

If you want to point fingers at programs that are stomping on the rules there's much better examples than Kentucky.

He gets good talent. But no better than any of the other elite programs. You could watch this Kentucky team early in the season and realize that it wasn't a championship team. It's a team that should have made it to the elite 8, but not much farther,...and that's where they got to.

Long time UK fan, very lukewarm Calipari fan, and only then because he is the coach. Kentucky lost today for 3 reasons.......officiating in second half went Auburn's way, there should have been at least 2 fouls called on Auburn in Kentucky's last possession in regulation, and there was not. Secondly, Calipari is a poor game coach, especially in the final minutes of a game. Lastly, Washington couldn't hit his foul shots, and if I were his teammates, I'd whip his ass. No excuse.

Having said that, it is very difficult to beat a team 3 times in one year. Hopefully Virginia will send the Auburn thugs back to Alabama.

Tell UMass and Memphis about it. There probably are bigger cheats though, but not many, once again if history is any indication.

Bullshit. *All* of the big programs skirt the rules as much as possible. The coach that beat Kentucky today got fired from Tennessee for doing so
