5 dang choice for each species - it's been driving me nuts for 12 years in a row.
Will submit my wish list yet again. Muzzy elk at the top of my list. I've only drawn once, and that was for the guided deer.
Good luck to those still doing the mental gymnastics.

I schit canned Nevada before I got too deep with points. Same with Arizona.
New Mexico and Alaska have some complicated systems too, sans the points.
I just want to drink beer and kill stuff. I hate thinking about how to apply for tags.

It is a chore but hell you get 5 chances on each species Some of the lower % areas on the east side of the state hold some nice critters but they are hard to find if you don't have plenty of time. This year is the wettest in a long time and will spread them out more than usual. Good luck. mike r

You think you have it bad. I'm working on mine plus,my daughters,my son's, and my son in laws. Each has different times when they are available to hunt and how far they are willing to travel and all have a different amount of points so it's tough trying to figure the odds. Plus I'm hoping that NM results come out soon so I don't have to over lap too many dates.

I actually thought the web site was much improved this year. Didn't take long at all to buy a license and join the group application a bud had started. We have a group of five and seem to average getting mule deer tags every other year.

Steve, Looks like you are a resident. My family isn't so we are in the NR pool with limited number of tags. Last year we were lucky and my daughter drew a deer tag and my son in law drew rifle elk with 6 points.

Well, good luck! We need that NR money to roll in. They didn't get much from me this year; only 15 bucks for the senior hunt/fish combo license.

16 points for elk, desert and cali sheep.....may get me something. or not.
I've drawn mule deer twice in 16 years of applications. The quality of the hunts were top notch!

8 or 9 years ago, I was searching Craigs list for some llama pack saddles. I ran across an ad from Reno. The guy was an avid big game hunter and had a llama pack string. After not drawing a single tag of any kind for more than 10 years, he said screw it. He sold all the llamas and equipment (I bought all of his equipment at a great price) and started going out of state and hiring guides. It was great for me but I sure felt sorry for the guy.

He was doing something wrong! Plenty of good hunts can be drawn way more easily than that! His expectations were out of whack. Take up the bow and you’re hunting every year.
