I'm thinking this is the same cat, as it is the same location and camera!

I've ate a few of em, it's not "delicious" as some say, very similar to pork, in color texture, mild flavor. . Definitely worth eating though. He cool to get a Texas cat, not many down there is there?

I"ve hunted leases in Rock Springs, Vanderpool, Brackettville and Reagan Wells during the last 20 years. This is the only lease where we have cougars on game cams. Between my bud and I we have about 20 game cams set out. This trail and one other are the only place we have pix of lions. All pix are within 1/4 mile. Lots of coyote, gray fox, and bobcat.

ya!

Hunted a piece of land near Crockett 3 times. Saw track then the cat. Coming off stand at night walking a mile to the meeting point was [bleep] eerie. Had a pistola cocked and ready the whole walk. Every noise in the dark had me on edge. State record gator was killed on the Trinity on the same farm.

I know that feeling....I’ve got some toms pushing the 200lb mark where I hunt. Our cats have enjoyed too many years of no dog hunting that has done nothing but increase their population while decreasing deer numbers...And, making hunters and loggers nervous in the dark hours. 😎

Kinda Odd. The AGFC says there are NO mountain lions (puma, cougar, panther) in Ark.

YET - in my life time I've SEEN 3 black ones ! 2 of them were each in a different place and ONLY saw the sweeping tail.
The third one, I saw the hind end and tail.

CORRECTION ! ! !

My F M D — fading memory disorder, sorry.

In 2011 I DID see a ‘Tan’ one’s HEAD peeking out of brush. No shot.
That makes 4 I’ve seen — where none are ! ??

You’ve seen more than most hunters have seen in states they are prevalent in.

Don’t really know what to make of that.

Well that has taken +/- 45 yrs. And I’ve always been a hunter.
So they’ve been FEW and FAR between.

Edit. It helped on the last one. I was tipped off about 1 being seen on our lease in 2011.
