Not all the time, I first noticed it When I went to lay down on my back in bed, but since you mentioned it, I just leaned my head back setting on the couch and looked up at the ceiling... Damn near fell out in the floor...

Had it one time years ago, doctor gave me something can't recall what it was. It does truly suck, like the worst hangover that doesn't end.

Yes have had bouts of it on occasion. I have used Bonine which seems to work about as good as what the doctor gave me.

Google it .....there's an exercise you can do while laying down that cures it immediately most of the time. It's caused by a crystal or other matter in your inner ear that's floating around and brushing against the cilia, which you brain translates as movement. The exercise gets the crystal to float back out of that section of the inner ear.

Positional vertigo, a over the counter drug brand name Bonine (Meclizine Hydrochloride) should help.

Have had it since I was 12. Had surprise bouts any time, any place. The drugs are worse than the condition. Meclizine is available behind the pharmacy counter, no RX required. Really knock it out in about 12 hours. Then it puts me to sleep or in la-la land for two days.

Oddly, after I had knee replaced last January, I have not had a single recurrence. Hope it stays that way.

My wife suffers from it periodically and it really wipes her out when it triggers. We haven't found a solution for her that works so can't offer any advice.

I had some sever bouts several years back. They hit over about a 6 month period and never came back. They were so bad that I couldn't even stay up on my hands and knees.

Had a spell several years back, scary has hell when it hits,

Most often the body realigns it self all on its own, has far as I know, usually in a few days.

I recall missing 2 or 3 days of work.

Stay positive.

Low doses of Valium can help. There are exercises that can help.

I had it (at least that's what I THINK it was) one time back in '76. I had just gotten out of boot camp and flew back home, about a three or four hour flight. I felt a little weird when I got off the plane, and by a couple of hours later I was too dizzy to not be in bed. It just went away in about 16 hours and never happened again. Knock on wood!

Tndrbstr: Someone VERY close to me came down with "vertigo" and suffered with it for 2 full years!
There are Doctors who specialize in this condition and can directly ascertain what is causing it (there apparently are various causes!) and can begin treatment and rehab.
Get to the Doctor.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.

^^^^^^^^^THIS^^^^^^^^^^

Actually OTC strength Anti-Vert

Mine came on suddenly, couldn't even walk called the MD and he said to use Bonine and see him in morning. He diagnosed labrinthitis probably viral and should clear up in a couple of days and it did but I did take the Bonine for two days.
