Has anyone handled this stock or have a rifle from Alamo Precision Rifles with this stock? It’s a proprietary stock for Alamo and looks like a great stock. Looks like they bred a McMillan Remington Classic with a McMillan Hunter and came up with the best of both worlds, less the Monte Carlo style cheek piece. They also carry the same stock from AG Composites, which is the same style.

I like the looks of that. Can you buy the stock from APR, or only available on a complete build from them?

Just did a quick cruise of the ag composites site. Didn’t see one like above. What’s it called?

Both stocks are proprietary to Alamo, but they will sell you either one of them.

Can't see deleting the cheekpiece and changing the fore end to that of a classic as making a McM Hunter a better stock.

Screw you! I'm voting for Trump again!

Here was their thought process on this stock design from another forum.

I would call it an updated or modernized Rem classic if I was trying to compare it to the current lineup. It shares the same forend cross-section as the classic or gamescout which gives it the ability to run a #2 up to a sendero without getting too bulky and still maintains a good "flat" on the bottom to provide a stable rest in most situations. The butt maintains the comb height and similar geometry as the McM Hunter, which gives you enough height to actually work with modern glass, lol, and the drop at nose makes the comb fall away from your face during recoil, not push into it like some of the more traditional designs. We did away with the cheekpiece as it was unnecessary "bulk" which also let us take the cast off out. Makes it much easier to get behind the gun and stay there through recoil when shooting prone. We did keep the very slight palm swell, as that's a feature most our customers liked about the McMillan Hunter. Basically, we took the features we liked from existing Mc Millan models and a couple things we wanted to see and morphed them into this stock.

Thanks,
Alamo Precision Rifles

McM hunter is a great stock. Might check these out. Would be curious to know what the difference is between the McM and AG

I've said for awhile now that a McMillan Hunter with a Classic for end would be THE perfect hunting stock. Wish McMillan would offer this themselves! Thanks for posting!!

2 of 3 APR Rigs have delivered via Big Brown Truck. One more to land later this afternoon...I’m painting and resisting the urge to open the boxes until I get home and cleaned up..

Patience is a dumb virtue 😎

Unwrapped and not disappointed.

APR 300 Wby

Build sheet:

K&P Match Sendero Barrel 1:10 with Micro Ratchet Flutes. 26.5” at 5/8x24 threads.

PTG recoil lug

Action is APR Stamped. Looks similar to a Stiller cloned Rem 700

Bolt is APR Spiral flutes

Bottom Metal. APR BDL with Octagon trigger guard. Fancy!

Trigger Tech Primary for the Go button

APR 20 MOA Rail and 2” bipod rail on stock forend.

Stock is called APR Carbon Fiber Hunter with cups

I don’t have a scale, but I have a 7lb Nosler M48 in 270 WSM. This rifle weighs right around 7.5lb with bolt.

Fit and tolerance of metal and stock are centered perfectly. I almost forgot about the threaded muzzle, I couldn’t see the cut line.

Bolt is smoooth as silk and locks up tight.

It’s a very nice rifle with excellent pointing and balance throwing it up.

If it shoots...I will have hit a home run 😎
