I think we've had 3 sunny days in the last two months. My lawn is a swamp and I'm thinking about stocking the puddle in my driveway with bass and sunfish.

Take a look at this snow water equivalent map of Idaho. It's dry in the far north but look at the SE corner. 1300% of normal water in the hills right now. IDAHO SNOWPACK

Hard to farm without a little drought. Hard to farm with a little too much drought.

Friend's family farms a whole lot of acreage in southern Illinois and also is a Beck's seed distributor. They've had a bunch of rain this year up around their area. Their Facebook page showed a 11% emergence on corn so far this year, compared to 81% last year and a 5 year average of 71% by this same time.

I knew all that money I sent to Al Gore would work.

We had two inches of snow on the deck yesterday morning and haven't seen the sun in a week. It has been raining and snowing like crazy. If it ever warms up we'll have grass.

Takes more than 1 or 2 years to solve a multi decade drought, but so far this year we're about 55% to 60% above what was considered an average year, the larger lakes have risen some 2 to 2-1/2 feet. How well the snowpack last and the amount allowed to run-off probably won't know how well the year has been until next year.

We had decent snows, but spring has been just colder than a witch's tit in a brass bra. Almost all the snow is still on the mountain. Most of the cows at our elevation or higher are still mostly on hay. Go up another 1000 feet, and the grass is about two or three inches tall at most. Some of these cows are due to go onto the range, and there won't be much if anything for them to eat.

Heat's on in the house, and the are predicting another 10 days of the same. Heck of a deal.

Same as Ralphie, we've been getting hammered lately.

Yeah it takes more than a year or two to recover from a drought, and we have been getting a lot of nice moisture lately. I remember 2015 as a pretty wet year too.

L can't see the foothills from my house, but everything I can see of the Wind Rivers is covered with snow.

Supposed to be in the mid 90's here for about the next week. Too hot for May. No rain though, that means things will dry out pretty quick. Typical Kentucky weather, goes from being too wet, to too dry.

China, Russia, the E.U. and a joint program by the U.S. & Australia, are all pouring in big time research at being able to somewhat control the weather....I've brought this up before and I know it sounds crazy...........BUT it IS going on....how successful they/we are is up for speculation.
