When you get bored with that rifle’s accuracy and put it in the classifieds, let me know first😀

Just a thought . . . . If you're not a patient person, re-boring (at least by JES) is much faster.

If the barrel is not the diameter I’d want - that is too small I’d re-barrel, or if the barrel finish is poor, or if I wanted to go to a smaller or even up to marginally larger caliber I’d re-barrel.

Otherwise, generally, I’d re-bore.

I have a 30-06 that should be a 35 Whelen - rebore
I have a pencil thin barreled 7mm RM that should be a 358 NM - re-barrel.

I prefer classic.

Does anyone know if JES will rebore browning A-Bolt II’s. Have a buddy with an Abolt 270 that he is thinking of reboring to a 338-06.

Stan at Douglas barrels can taper a barrel to your contour, turn around is quick with excellent quality!

A re bore is not the same quality barrel as a Douglas, by a long shot....bore scopes do not lie.

Some rebores look better than others, but the five at my house, by JES and Pederson, all shoot very well. The JES jobs certainly don't look like the lovely inside of a Hart barrel, they just look like normal rifling and shoot very well. The .416 I had Dan Pederson do looks like utter garbage but shoots very well. Douglas makes a fine barrel for sure, but a person shouldn't write off a rebore on the assumption it won't shoot. It seems the great majority of guys who have rebores done are happy.

No, they aren’t that pretty thru the bore scope, but they do shoot.
