There would be NO low-wage-illegal-alien-worker-that-won't-talk-back problem in The United States if "Patriotic Americans" were NOT hiring them so they can put the money of out-of-work and/or underpaid genuine American workers in their own pocket for the sake of a new bass boat or $20,000 rifle. Greed and Sloth are NOT Patriotic American virtues, no matter a person's financial, political, or racial status. If any business or landowner in America cannot survive by paying genuine American's a wage they they, themselves, would expect if their shoe was on the other foot - they should close their business and go get a job at Walmart.
I am 61 and the first job I ever had in my life, when I was 17, I got paid $10.00 an hour - 44-years later people are angry about a $7.25 minimum wage, and then they wonder why their out of work genuine American neighbor votes for then enemy of their enemy...

Drove an 18-yard dump truck (non-union) in a liberal State. Stupid kid I was, I just liked trucks... And now you hate Texas. You could have made more producing BS.

My first job was when I was 15, mopping floors and flipping burgers for 3.35. (1987) I did have a old cattleman that paid me $7 an hour hustle square bales and drive T-posts on Saturdays.
There were "rumors" of jobs on the federal military base paying union wages of $8 for bitch-boy work.
However you had to be some fatfück union [bleep]'s kid to get those jobs.
As for mexicans and unpatriotic people hiring mexicans. The mexis in Tn do not work for the evil meat packing conglomerate. The mexis here pool together a couple thousand dollars and get a scooby-doo van and boom, they in business for themselves. Self employed roofers, drywall, painters, they buy themselves mowers and start their lawn businesses.
Albeit, people should know better who theyre hiring, I guess the average 61 year old fat feeble homeowner is glad to pay Armando $35 to clean out their gutters. And dont buy ins or pay taxes.

Of course I am employed, but what business is that of yours and what does it have to do with not hiring low wage illegal aliens so you can waste the money of out-of-work-Americans on a ridiculous juvenile truck?

Don’t doubt Karl’s recollections of such. I started out at $8 per hour carrying hod for bricklayers, within 12-18 mos I was making $10 per hour on the north side of Chicago. Granted the union bricklayers were only making around $12-13 per hour, but as far as I know I was one of the few non union guys on a fair sized project.
Union rules were 2 laborers for every 3 bricklayers. But I took care of 4 guys solo. Every time the boss hired another laborer the crew ran them off, including the foreman’s son 🤷🏻♂️ Every time they ran one off the boss gave me a raise.
Bought my first brand new truck for cash for $4400, times were good for me. This would have been 77-79 same here started laying floors for my dad, he owned a flooring store, i made 8 an hr. i learned from several good installers. I was running my own crew at 17. when i turned 19 i moved to Dallas, my buddy who was the same age and i got the contract on several new condo projects. his mom worked for the builder. we had teo other crews working for us we made 50 cent a yard off everything they laid plus what him i laid with our helpers. we were making between a 1500-2000 a week each back in 83. then i got married and first wife couldn't handle living up there.
God bless Texas----------------------- Old 300 I will remain what i am until the day I die- A HUNTER......Sitting Bull Its not how you pick the booger.. but where you put it !! Roger V Hunter

Its a crazy Country...

I'm a little older and envy some of your starting wages. I worked for ten years to get up to your average starting pay. But I worked the last 43 without being out of work for even one day, learned a lot and the first of every month for the last twelve years get a real nice bank deposit

1972 was the year I graduated high school. Went to work in a sawmill at $2.54 an hour. It was considered pretty good money. Top wage at the paper mill was around $6. I guess I should have driven truck!

As a matter of fact it was New York City. Seems those God damned Yankees were a little ahead of the slave-wage mentality...

First job was cleaning / scrubbing dog kennels for local vet after school circa 1972 ... Whopping $1.35/hr. Even when I got my first "real" full time job in a union shop (1975), I started off at $4.25/hour. Have been "steadily increasing" since then. But, have been hard at it all along as well. I think one of the military branches has a saying that "The only easy day was yesterday."
Everything is a hustle. Otherwise you are going backwards.

As Slumlord said. All the new arrivals here do not work for the "Man". They work for El Jefe.
Employed by their own who own the companies. Everything from the local restaurants, counter top Factories, landscaping, framers, brickmasons, etc. All hispanic owned and operated. The word goes out they need xxx type worker, and one appears for them. Like “hey I gotta cousin in Matamoros that does that!”
Before wifey’s 20 plus year bout with viral cardiomyopathy caught up with her in 2012 (then the multiple cancers and eventual strokes), she was a human resourse director for a local concrete company. When she started the owner was Venezuelan. When she was terminated the parent company was in Ireland. They went thru like 4 different owners in the space of like 10 years.
She stated that with all the regulations and inspections it was virtually impossible to employ illegals as drivers, etc. They were watched by feds like a hawk. (Not saying those things didn’t happen elsewhere). She said the biggest issues they had was legally certified individuals who came in legally, when thru all the channels, being deported on technicalities. Some after living here decades.
But the foreign run infrastructure is in place. They are a shoo in. Family taking care of family. That’s all I havta say on the subject.
Founder Ancient Order of the 1895 Winchester
"Come, shall we go and kill us venison? And yet it irks me the poor dappled fools, Being native burghers of this desert city, Should in their own confines with forked heads Have their round haunches gored."
