Ha ha. My Ukrainian wife has me watching that right now because I’ve got a tour to Chernobyl booked when we’re there in 3 weeks.
She’s some pissed that I booked it. Refused to go with me. Said a lot of people died and it’s a bad place.

It's a fact based mini-series. Docu-drama is what I think it's referred to. I've only seen two episodes and I couldn't take my eyes off the TV screen. Incredible show and it does a fantastic job of displaying loyalty to the state that the Soviet Union is so famous for.

This article attributes Chernobyl to many thousands of cancer deaths. It's a 9 year old article so I'm sure the numbers are way off now. Blaming the accident for cancer is tricky at best so I don't know how good the numbers are. CHERNOBYLThis article attributes 30 deaths to plant workers during the accident, mostly from acute poisoning. RADIATION

Pass Jorge, it's portrayed really well from the perspective of the impact on on individuals having to carry out the orders. You should dwatch it. The whole series it a complete damnation of the Soviet system. So far it should be required viewing for all the neo-leftist in the current political field. I don't have the quote but one of the characters says something like, "It is State policy that there will not be a catastrophic nuclear accident in the Soviet Union", in the the middle of the accident.

Steve: I have heard nothing but good reviews about this series, particularly as an excellent indictment of the democrat err communist system. That said, I just have to soft of a spot for dogs and has gotten much worse in my dotage. That and my wife would be a wreck!
