FYI...the 629-2s were known as Mountain Revolver not Mountain Gun...

I had that gun book marked...that was a Hell-Of-A-Deal...

The MG Series is to me the best balanced guns Smith ever made...

cowboy...that is a real decent price if the gun is in good condition... I had two -2s and a -5 and ended up keeping the -5...

Thanks. I’m glad I wasn’t bidding against you lol
My lovely state only allows me to buy 1 handgun every 30 days. Picking up another late this week so this one Won’t be here until a month after that. Planning on taking a trip to Montana to look at properties on July 9 for a week or so. I’ll pick this one up after I return.

No, I've had three .44 Magnum Mountan Guns and sold them all as I'm a .41 Magnum fan.... Had several in .45 ACP also and that is a really great caliber for the MGs...

You'll enjoy this one...

Picked up my SW Victory today. While I was there, I got to fondle the Mountain Revolver I bought. I have to wait 30 days between handgun purchases so I’ll pick it up next month. The trigger is the smoothest I’ve ever felt on a revolver. Gun is in fantastic shape. I think I got a good one. Pics to follow next month

Picked up the 629-2 today. Needs a good cleaning but it’s in really good shape. The trigger feels like it’s around 1lb. in SA. Super smooth, no creep or over travel. . Is this normal for an older gun or was trigger work done?
