We picked up Gunner on Sunday afternoon from Matt Keller Kennels in Mayer, AZ. He's a 7 week old French Brittany Spaniel. Right now typical puppy stuff, up most of the night and sleeps all day if I would let him. Don't want to jinx myself, but house and crate training is going too smoothly. He's in the image gallery but I can't seem to get them loaded in the thread. He has an intense interest in the area of the wife's bird feeders, which attract the quail and doves. When I let him out to relieve himself his nose is to the ground and he's working the area back and forth. Thanks for all the suggested reading material and DVD info a few weeks back. https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/galleries/13875383/gunnerI'll provide updates as we progress. Respectfully, Dave

Thanks to all for the kind word and for posting the pictures. It's been years since we had a puppy. Forgot about all the work and sleepless nights that goes into them. But, when he wants to crawl onto your lap and cuddle it makes it all worth it.
So far only two little accidents in the house. He's good about letting you know when he needs to go out. He goes to work with me everyday, as we're a dog friendly work place. He socializes really well with the other dogs. Also loves to ride in the truck. He jumps onto the center console and rides next to me.

Congratulations on your new pup. I was lucky enough to be introduced to the breed by a chance meeting with a guy we met while hunting pheasant in eastern Colorado. He was out working his dog and we were next to a field of wheat stubble that was cut about 3 inches tall. He wanted to know if we wanted to hunt behind the dog. The field was between us and our truck, so we figured why not? I honestly thought there were no birds at all in this field...none. So there are now three guys and one dog in a section of wheat stubble, and the dog is working back and forth like a windshield wiper. I like watching a dog work, and was day dreaming when the dog flushes a hen right by me. Holy cow! Dog ended up flushing more birds, but they were all hens. I was very impressed, and would love to have one some day.
Good luck on your new best friend.
