Am I the only one that enjoys bran cereal with a ripe banana? I also love sliced avocado/tomato on a crisp piece of romaine lettuce....and I always drink cranberry juice in the morning....loooooove that stuff!!

you fellars make a sandwish out of anything. My favorite aunt, a brown-bagger school-teacher, got tired of The Same Old Things in her lunches, so she experimented a lot. She wouldn't confess to some of the things that she'd tried once, but she came-up with some real winners, too. One of her best favorites was the bacon-and-banana sandwich which has been one of my favorites too since 1953 or 1954. Don't sneer. Try it! Fry the bacon very crisp in plenty of grease, turning it often. Keep the bacon, the banana, and the mayonnaised bread separate until you're ready to eat the sandwich. Need I add the rest? Put a layer of banana slices atop a layer of bacon atop a slice of bread. Top with the other slice. Open your pie hole. Insert sandwich. Et cetera

Here's my Mexican breakfast: 5 fresh dove breasts and a couple of fresh cottontail pieces, grilled over true mesquite, two eggs collected that morning, some white rice, and some extry carbs.

Used to go to a local restraunt that had a friday night prime rib special. They'd save me one for Sat. morning. Had the prime rib with hash browns and sausage gravy, sour dough toast with real butter and lots of black coffee. Yum! To bad they shut down... Am now going to the Sunrise Cafe, at Pleasent Hill Or. The chef there makes a shrimp omelet (actually prawns) that is out of this world! srimp, creme cheese, chedder cheese, marinated peppers and onions, etc. Wow! this is the best ever! Virgil B.

Ah yes, my standard breakfast order at a Mexican restaurant: Huevos revueltos con chorizo, por favor. Paul

The fact that the perfect breakfast seems to be different from day to day, and the variety of tastes shown in this thread, suggest that the perfect breakfast is a menu or smrgsbord. Even a given dish like scrambled eggs, for example is "best" in a variety of ways.
Here's another dish that's worth trying in a variety of ways. The customary term is "French" toast. I prefer to call this versatile version ranch egg toast. The basic recipe is a delicious alternative to "French" toast just as it is variety broadens its appeal.
Beat the whites of three large eggs until they're stiff. Beat the yolks separately and add three tablespoons of milk and however much salt and pepper appeals to your taste buds. Fold the beaten whites into the yolk-milk-etc mixture.
Dip slices of bread quickly into this batter and fry them in deep, hot oil (I prefer peanut oil).
For variety, experiment with whatever flavor-enhancers appeal to you cinnamon, chopped nuts, whatever in addition to or in lieu of the salt and pepper.
Serve and treat 'em the same as you would "French" toast.
You may find that more than one of your variations appeals to you. Then you have the further option of whether to have one favorite version for a while before you switch to another favorite version, or to have one favorite version one morning and a different favorite version the next time you have this kind of toast for breakfast.
"Good enough" isn't.

and of course there's a world of variety in the array of good things that you can top your ranch egg toast with cane, maple, or huckleberry syrup jam, jelly, or preserves (a delicious further variety in each of these!) peanut or other nut "butter" shredded coconut cheese inter alia.
Think!
Try!
Enjoy!
