I am looking for someone to put a banded front sight, a rear sight and a banded swivel base on a rifle along with reblueing. Who do you recommend that is fairly quick and fairly reasonable? Thanks, Les

The good old days of gunsmithing are long gone. Now, the cost for anything is $1,500 to $3,000. The $1,500 is if the job takes the guy an hour - the $3,000 is if the guy wastes your rifle and has to replace it, and you pay for it. There is a guy named Tom Jackson dpcd67 yahoo.com on Accurate Reloading - he is fair, very knowledgeable, does very good work, and doesn't leave your rifle sitting in a box till he feels like doing it. You can mosey on over to the AR Gunsmithing forum and read his posts. [EDIT] His username on AR is DPCD.

I like Ahlman's in Morristown, MN. They do good work quickly and at a lower price than most that I've seen. I don't know that I'd go to them for a full custom build, but for general gunsmithing I think that they are a great choice. I use them for all of my pistol work and have seen equally good work from their riflesmiths. www.ahlmans.com

Just don't tell Tom that QC recommended him. Biitchh has been doing this for 20-years - he thinks Tom will turn away a new customer because I make Biitchh, look like a Biitchh, easy as stealing candy from a fat Texass redneck baby... Biitchh likes to put down anyone that can't spend daddy's money on expensive guns - then he thinks all the big-buck riflemiths like him when in reality they're just happy to take his daddy's money so Biitchh can feel like he's somebody. Lets wait around a few minutes and Biitchh will post the same photo of a rifle he posted 20-years ago, and every year since. Tom is an excellent rifle-smith - I doubt that he gives one fugg what Biitchh has to say about him taking on a new customer.

Jim Kobe in Bloomington Mn does that kind of work. I have no idea the cost, but like most things, you get what you pay for. He has built a number of custom guns for me and they look great and shoot better.

I would talk with Redneck. I believe that he could do it. If he didn't want to, or it isn't his thing, he would tell you.
