First time i ate at a Sonic was in the south east part of OK.

They had to be the largest burgers i had ever seen.

When they started going all over the burgers had shrunk some.

Ate at wataberger one in Weatherford and it was good.

In Lubbock today i saw a Freddy's steakburger place going up,might have to try in in a few months.

The 5-guys burger joint is not bad but nowadays i don't eat as much,no room.

Texas burger joints are all over south Texas and when stripping cotton years ago they sure filled you up.

1st Whataburger was Christmas 1960, visiting grandparents wintering in Brownsville, Texas. It was a treat! Also remember they also offered a "peach pie," better than any Hostess pie. Gas was 12.9 cents per gallon at the Oklahoma Turnpike gas stations.

Whataburger SADLY little resembles the place with GREAT "Double-Double cheeseburgers" of our youth. (I ate my first WB in the Fall of 1957.) - WB is now NO different than the other national "fast food" burger chains.
(Fwiw, I was away from Texas for over 2 decades while in the Army & was DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED in Whataburger had become while I was gone.)
