The old Gunbroker search engine used to let you search the titles of listings for specific words. I found it very useful.

Now, you can still search "key words" but that doesn't necessarily limit your search results to those words. For example, I just ran a search for: Ruger 1911. While my search results gave me a good number of Ruger 1911 pistols, I also got listings that said "Springfield Armory XDM 5.25" "Ruger Mark III 22/45" "Ruger SR9C" plus other non-Ruger 1911 results.

I read through the Advanced Search feature and tried a few searches but still can't find a way to run a search for specific words in the title of the listing.

Anyone know how to do that? Thanks in advance.

Do a search for semiautomatic pistols with no terms at all, then filter the results down by brand and model.

That works perfectly.

I don't know exactly how the listings are tagged but I get the sense that the method I described may actually miss some items sometimes. If you try to add up the numbers on the filters they may not always add up. Still thinking on that one.
