BEIJING (Reuters) - China offered strong support to Iran on Friday, with its top diplomat telling Iran’s foreign minister that China opposes unilateral sanctions and supports Tehran’s efforts to safeguard its interests.

But I wouldn't worry about China too much. Its military is nothing but an undisciplined, hodgepodge bunch.

Evidently the sanctions are squeezing Iran pretty tightly and therefor the prickly outbursts. It would seem that just keeping up the sanctions will bring Iran's mullahs to take on more provocations that the rest of the world will witness.

The Iranian leadership of today needs to continue their terrorist ways to hold on to power. But, the Iranian people may revolt against them under continued sanctions as life gets harder and without us getting too deep into a shooting war.

The flip side is the mullahs get the nukes and do something truly stupid.

As I understand it, one reason the japs took on the US was our squeezing their oil supply. When you squeeze it can go either way.

I would keep up the sanctions and keep a close watch on the progress of nuke development. Stay away from being baited into shooting up Iran.

Let those in the mid east worry about Iran.

They were likely maneuvered into it, a la the Lusitania incident.

The Lusitania was intentionally directed into waters (at a slow rate of speed, and without escort) known to be patrolled by German U-Boats (we had broken their code), and known to the Germans to be carrying munitions (Germany even took out ads in US press warning civilians not to be on this ship for that very reason). The purpose was to maneuver the Germans into an action which the internationalist press would then describe as a war provocation by Germany, vis a vis the US.

Thinking about the Iranian situation I’m now convinced the video of the Iranians removing the mines is genuine. The Iranians were obviously embarrassed and enraged by being caught and reacted by shooting down the MQ4 Trident. I believe they didn’t understand the drones’ capabilities and how thoroughly the straits were being surveilled. The Iranians wanted to poke out our all seeing eye to free themselves up to move covertly.
