Sounds cool.

If things go well ‘tween now and then I might be in the neighborhood, no idea how probable that is at this point.

On the other hand, if I can talk her into staying home, I'd be just as happy. I don't have to travel to be happy.

We are going up to north central Mn. in a while here. We've been going to the same little family run resort for over 20 years now between deer hunting and summer vacations. Very small place. Half a dozen cabins, and about 60 camper spots. We see the same folks every year and have gotten to know many of them. There will be a big potluck one night, lots of other stuff to do. It's not for everyone, but it works good for us. Our cabin's right on the lake. Often have loons or herons down by the dock in the morning. It's mostly a panfish lake with good bass numbers, fair northern numbers, and the occasional walleye thrown in. We look forward to it every year. I always end up helping out around the resort with whatever needs done that week. Mow a little grass, fix dock-whatever needs done that I can help with.

Was getting diesel a couple days ago and there were 2 dykes filling up next to me...

They were talking about going on vacation to Colorado. They were fixing to go hook up to their camping trailer.

One dyke asked the other one if the hitch they put on would hold that trailer?....

That got my curiosity up so I had to walk around the pump and peek.

eek

It's already bent at a downward angle.... And only about an inch from the pickup. crazy

Hope for the sake of others on the highway that it held..

Had an older gent walk up to me in Tractor Supply one day and ask, “how the hell you use this kinda hitch???” When I showed him you’d thought you’d just witnessed the discovery of fire!!! No doubt one of the county’s newest ranchers. Prolly runnin’ 40 registered Longhorns on 15 acres.

Daytona Beach for a week after Labor Day, and possibly a week at an undecided location ( Vegas, New Orleans or San Antonio) in November.

I'm surrounded by people from all over the world that come to NorCal for vacations.

Euro Trash to the left of me Kommie Asians to the right, here I am stuck in the middle.....

Even my little corner of the county that was just a nice quiet little viticulture Ag area ten years ago is turning into some tourist wine tasting mecca.

All you boxed wine wino freaks wanna come see where the chit is made I guess clogging up my back county country roads looking at the illegals workin.

No vacations planned for this summer.

I must be living one though, as tourist season is already full swing here. All to peak with the Sturgis Rally in August.

No offense, but I took my family to see the redwoods and show my daughter the ocean a couple years ago. The trees were worth it. But If I never set foot in your state again it'll be too soon. Granted I don't think Crescent City is often touted as a vacation destination. Or is it?

Does anyone else here abhor the beach as much as I do?

Just curious.

It does nothing for me. Stinks. Sand gets in everything, and if it's nice out it's packed. At least that's been my experience.
